What can my baby boy wear to his Christening party?

We've got the Christening gown sorted but it's a tad, erm, girly (was mine many moons ago!)... and I'd quite like to whip it off him after the service and put him in something else for the little party afterwards. He will be 12 weeks so I am still dressing him very much as a baby - ie. he wears babygrows and rompers not full on cowboy gear and footie strips! Any ideas for something white and pure and angelic looking???

I bought DS aged 2 weeks a pure white cotton padded snowsuit as it was very cold in the church (christmas time) and underneath he had a little knitted white embossed dungeree romper type thing and white longsleeved vest, very smart but still baby like.

DS had a shirt and smart dungerees in blue from Gap.

I didn't like the idea of a Christening gown as we had no family one so just went for a pair of cream dungarees in velvet actually with sort of furry blue jacket and matching little leather bootees. DS was 9 months at the time.

But the cream dungarees he then wore again and actually dd also wore them (but not to her christening !)

anything here ?

LoopyJoose · 01/05/2010 22:55

Pavlov that is a beautiful website, I have seen a couple of things I love

here

and

here but without the hideous cap

Debating now whether to put him in my gown at all - think my Mum would be disappointed if we didn't - is veeeery feminine though, poor chap...

John Lewis have some nice "baby" baby clothes that would be good for a christening. My DS's wore a linen romper suit that I bought on ebay but they do a similar one in John Lewis
