Desperately looking for some ...

Found some on Next (not quite right style but near enough) but all sold out

Brora have them but too flimsy and expensive for school wear

Have searched all school uniform sites without success ...

Does anyone have any ideas please?

And yes it does have to have a ROUND pan collar ...(school rules)

I got some from Gymboree for my dd1 and dd2. They are nice, but postage was tons (I was buying wedding outfits for them at the same time so it seemed almost justifiable )

Adams do one with a round collar, but it's polyester-cotton mix, and has a little embroidered butterfly. Might do if you're desperate.
I'm getting that you seek something less tacky

Stillcounting · 01/05/2010 19:06

Thanks Sazisi - much appreciated

Yup - don't object to a bit of tack here and there - but not in this partic instance

It's looking like might have to be Gymboree with extortionate postal charge unless dh can get them in person (he is going on trip to States later this month)

Or perish the thought...try and make them myself ...

or

M&S do one but reviews so awful I was put off but needs must and all that

Thanks again

Ask the school where they suggest you get them, it should be possible at the local school shop. If its a problem the school should relax the round collar, but if they don't know they won't change it.

Stillcounting · 01/05/2010 19:38

Thanks Danthe4th but school supplies all sold out for this year (small school - annual order only). My package went astray ....and someone else ended up with it ...grrrr

I had to buy something a bit unusual recently and I went on lots of school uniform sites and eventually, eventually, did find it. For example, John Lewis have specific school uniforms and might have one. (I was seeking a long sleeve polo shirt by the way!)

Scootergrrrl · 01/05/2010 20:11

Any good?

Hulababy · 01/05/2010 20:23

Try JL but in store, rather than online.

JL do specific school uniforms. We have to buy DD's uniform from JL. Her new winter uniform has a short sleeved rounded collared blouse. I can't get it online, but can always get it instore - and they can order from other stores too with free delivery.

zanz1bar · 01/05/2010 20:28

Cheap

MrsBadger · 01/05/2010 20:50

JL

Oops, sorry. Thought you were talking about t-shirts

Stillcounting · 03/05/2010 15:38

Crikey!! So sorry - out of house all day yesterday - so only checking out latest replies now.

Thanks Scootergirl - I may in the end buy the M&S ones but I am a bit dubious because of all the disparaging reviews saying they are "a nightmare to iron" etc etc

I will investigate John Lewis further - thanks Cloelia - slightly more complicated for me though because not in UK - but have sisters in GB who could help

ZanzIbar - those are perfect!! - thank you - only prob though, Asda don't deliver beyond UK

Sorry everyone - should have mentioned the fact that I live in continental Europe before now

MrsBadger 'tis very reassuring knowing you are on the case - thank you
Both of those examples are good. I guess I could quite easily lop off the sleeves of the Perry one. Mmmmm....

Thank you anyway SpeedyMackenchie!!!

If nothing else crops up, I think I will go for the Perry ones and do a little sewing. I have ordered from them before without probs.....

Thanks again everyone!!
