Please help re party wear

Agh - am going to a party tonight and haven't sorted out anything to wear...

I have:

  • jeans and a top of some sort, Fly wedges;
  • purple tulip-ish shape skirt - but don't know what to wear with it;
  • denim mini and erm (and is it too late for opaques?);
  • Warehouse dress in dark blue silk - again, what on legs?;
  • black and white silk rather short dress: would have to wear opaques with it and it may not fit anyway...

Please help!

I think opaque tights are out - it's officially spring, you know .

Jeans and a pretty top always good mid-season. What are the top options? Could you wear high heeled sandals and paint your toenails?

Agree with Anna in theory - although it is currently freezing here and I will be lighting a fire soon.

But jeans, heels and a pretty top would be good.

I think I put my only pair of high heeled sandals in the bin last week but may have another (bloody uncomfortable) pair hiding at back of cupboard.

Top options for jeans include:

cream silk cami with purple flowers on it (sounds hideous but is gorgeous);

black lacey victorian style (but lower neck) short sleeved blouse;

purple scoop neck chiffon top with frilly bit around neck;

couple of others probably but have forgotten at the mo.

The purple skirt is lovely but am struggling to think what to put with it.

I think a paler top would be better (though I think it is summer, having just got back from a week swimming/cycling/on the beach at Ile de Ré!). Is there omething creamy and Chloé-esque hiding in your wardrobe? And you could pop out for new pair of sandals - still time .

Sandals are cream with a slim wooden high heel.

I also have a grey silk top which I suppose might be considered Chloe-esque in a bad light and after a few glasses of wine!

It is just about to chuck it down here I think but we'll be going in a taxi so should be okay.

Not popping out anywhere! I intend to sit on here and drink Earl grey for at least the next two hours, though I might be persuaded to paint my nails at some point!

Grey and cream sounds very chic. I am having a pale grey moment at the moment - too much browsing in comptoirs.

Will try the jeans on with the grey top - thanks.

Would still like ideas for the skirt though, if you're feeling up to it!
