Coloured jeans question

tulpe · 01/05/2010 08:00

I bought these in the pinky-red shade (which actually are more orangey-red). Have worn them loads and now seem to be very attracted to coloured jeans!

I have just received these from La Redoute.

Bearing in mind I am 39, size 8........can I get away with these or are they mutton?

I would wear with ballet flats/sandals, slouchy vest tops, breton shirts.

BTW, the La Redoute jeans I've bought are Pink - you will have to select the colour from the link to see the right ones as it links to the white ones.

At size 8, yes you can. (couldn't see the pink ones, maybe sold out).

MarshaBrady · 01/05/2010 08:15

I mean your outfit sound lovely

tulpe · 01/05/2010 08:23

Thanks Marsha. If you select size 8 then you can choose pink in the colour section (they don't appear as a colour choice in the original link - only white and yellow). They are quite a bright, girly pink - kind of candy shade

Am also considering the yellow ones..........

candy-tastic! Yes I still think you can cos you are slim!

Saw this on another thread

30% off at La Redoute all bank holiday weekend. Code is 3499

Not sure if it will work as they are already reduced to a great price.

Get both then try the pink, you'll know then I think...

Bright coloured jeans - in fact coloured trousers - are really nice! It makes a really good change to do bright on your bottom half and more sober on your top half. I have some bright yellow summer trousers that look great on a bright sunny day with silver flower sandals, a white vest t-shirt and a grey cardigan. Or a grey/spot Marni shirt from last year...

I have a coloured jeans question as well! I have lovely pair of (Boden ) green jeans but haven't worn them much as never know what colour jacket to wear. I live in Scotland so always need a jacket or a cardi (on a good day!). Would a dark denim jacket be a bit naff or have a brown jacket? Have cardis in all colours of the rainbow as well!

tulpe · 01/05/2010 20:45

Cabatach - I am very as I love those green jeans but didn't get my ass into gear quick enough to buy them.

How about oatmeal, yellow or hot pink, or white with the green jeans?

IMO, the dark denim jacket would be a bit naff.

What style is your brown jacket? I have the Boden brown biker jacket (it was a waxed version) from last season and that style would look fab with those green jeans........

Alternatively, a neutral coloured parka would be rather good with them too. H&M have a lovely tencel version in a neutral shade ignore the Dutch website I was so glad I tried this on - it looked a bit 'meh" on the hanger but looks fab when worn - especially teamed with a thin cotton scarf

Cheapy coloured jeans.

Cabatach · 01/05/2010 21:01

Thanks Tulpe - H&M parka looks very nice, may be tempted!

My brown jacket is last summer's Boden cord jacket. Also have a mac in hot pink but had thought may be too much together!

Am also tempted by the Boden photographer jacket www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Coats-Jackets/Jackets/WE251/Womens-Photographer-Jacket.html?NavGroupID= 2 in driftwood or slate but am trying to resist!

tulpe · 01/05/2010 21:07

Love the purple ones.......they could really work for autumn

Tulpe - loving the idea of coloured jeans.

I ordered those uniqlo ones in the grey but returned them as they were odd size wise - very large, not very skinny at all and the denim felt very thin.

Let us know how you get on with the la redoute ones.
