stylish elegant practical boots?

I need a stylish pair of boots, flat, practical for walking round a city maybe to suit wearing over jeans or leggings with a dress.

I don't mind a bit of a funky look, but not too clumpy. It should be feminine and elegant.
Anyone seen my boots?

I just bought these and they are fab... Not sure they are what you're looking for though.

What colour? Ankle, calf or knee length? Round or pointed toe? Size and budget?

Oh they are nice... I really wanted about knee length, but not the type to hurt behind your knee when you're walking though!
