Afternoon shopping with the girls, then out to dinner

What can I wear that will suit both the shopping expedition and the dinner/evening out straight after?

Am completely bored of jeans - anyone have any ideas?

I'm 5ft 5 and a size 10. Age 36!

I would go with either jeans, flats, t-shirt with a blzer / boyfriend jacket and some kind of scalf

or

a maxi dress with a denim jacket

or chino type turned up trousers with flats for day and take (or buy) some heels for the evening

Turned up chinos sound good...what could I wear with those that would work for evening? I can do heels in the daytime no problem as will be child free .

what about a vest top for day which you can put a blouse or shirt over for evening.

Or maybe a t-shirt / vest top for day and put a jacket over in the evening for a smarter look.

I always find that jewellery and accessories can change an outfit to so perhaps you could carry something in your bag to jazz up the outfit later on?

Thanks Sweetheart... I should probably mention I"m in Scotland, so a jacket will be an essential item! Anyway, I have none of these things, so I'll need to find some time to shop. How wierd...I need to shop for my shopping outfit!!!

everyonesatit · 29/04/2010 14:53

Aha! Are those the ones people were raving about? I looked back and couldn't find the thread. Thanks for that...

I brought a pair of the Gap ones and I don't like them - they are very bulky around the middle which is not good for me and they get loose and baggy really easily! I'm thinking I should have brought a smaller size!

Thanks for the tip on the GAp ones. I'll pop into NL tomorrow while DS2 naps and try those.

Do you think a blazer and a sparkly vest would be ok with them? With heels of course!

i am watching with interest as this is the kind of style dilemma i often have

i am also 5'5''and a size 10 but ten years older than Op . I feel i am too old for the skinnies +heels+ sparkly top look. its a bit of a cliche anyway, especially on middle aged mums

what about denim jacket ?
