To the person that recommended the "Silkymit" way back in a thread where someone was asking for a gentle facial hair removal method for her young daughter ... thank you!!

I just tried it on my top lip and it was so quick and easy, took about 1 minute!! And it even exfoliated at the same time ... and, and it looks so natural, my face feels so smooth. No messy waxing or bleaching for me again.

I'm going to get the one for legs next (I have very sensitive skin and come out in a rash no matter what I do). This may be the answer.

oooh that sounds good! have you got a link for it? where did you get it?

Cartoose · 28/04/2010 10:42

I just picked it up in Superdrug! I'm sure it must be at Boots too.

Cartoose that does sound interesting! Would you mind posting back here in a couple of weeks to report on what any regrowth is like?

diddl · 28/04/2010 14:03

Can you only use it once?

Cartoose · 28/04/2010 14:44

Sure, I'll post back. It did say "do not use more than once a week" so we'll see.

Diddl, I'm not sure what you mean, sorry.

Oops, that was supposed to say "do not use more often than once a week". Hope that makes sense.

I will look out for that! Thanks

hobbittoes · 28/04/2010 16:00

I think diddl was asking if it is a disposable product............... erh well, is it?

diddl · 28/04/2010 17:57

Oh yes hobbittoes-that was exactly what I meant, thank you!

Cartoose · 28/04/2010 18:21

Oh I see. Well, it looks a bit like a cardboard nail file but it isn't course like a nail file it's extremely fine. The pack holds around 3 or 4 of these "files" and a kind of rubber holder thing. I only used the first "file" once and I think I'll get quite a few more uses out of it before I move onto the next one. So, they do become disposable eventually. I'll have to see how long they last as I continue to use them.

Please don't be afraid of the word "file". It won't file your face off. Honestly!

I used one of these on my legs once... I was left with terrible ingrowing hairs and bumps...
maybe they're different now?

Cartoose · 28/04/2010 18:32

Oh no! I hope they're different now. The great result on my face has made me want to rush out and buy the one for legs. I'll report back when I've tried it

... but if it worked on my face it should be fine on legs surely.

JackBauer · 28/04/2010 19:34

As zazen said, I used one on my legs and it was Not Good.

princessmel · 28/04/2010 20:34

Isn't it just like shaving???
Will you get stubble?

juneybean · 28/04/2010 20:37

I have something similar, and the growth is exactly as it was before. No thicker or coarser or anything like that.

Cartoose · 29/04/2010 10:39

OK so I just used the leg one and it seems to have the results of shaving but it's more of a faff to use. The leg ones aren't going to work for me I don't think.

However, my face seems just as smooth today as it was yesterday. No rashes or problems. Strange as both the face and the leg ones use the same process

Will report back on face in a couple of weeks. So far so good
