Who else does NOT wear make-up at work?

I have never worn much make-up & have never worn it at work. I think it's really funny how ill some people look if they have just not "put their face on" in the morning.

I wouldn't have time in the morning, & I hate washing/wiping it all off. I DO wear it for parties, going out etc, and think it's nice to see a difference, but don't want to rely on it.

Last year didn't take ANY on holiday (beach with the kids, BBQ at night etc so no real point anyway).

How many other naked faces are out there?

I don't wear it except on special occasions. Can't be bothered to put it on and can't be bothered to take it off

Tinker · 30/07/2005 20:19

I do notice non-make-up wearers, yes. Don't know what that says about me but I do register it.

kid · 30/07/2005 20:26

Never wear make up to work. Just about have time to get dressed in time in the mornings as it is!
Do wear a little bit when going out (not that I go out often!)

I have, yes, so I suppose I don't need mascara or anything.

spursmum · 30/07/2005 20:36

I only seems to notice the make up wearers that have gone too far (a la jordan). My ex flatmate used to slap on the reaaly dark foundation thinking it looked like a tan!!! Combine that with purple eyeshadow and pink lippy!!! How on earth did she think she looked good?

kid · 30/07/2005 20:39

I saw an elderly lady today down the market. Not only did she have sun damaged skin (large dark freckles and very wrinkly) she also had bright pink lipstick on, bleached blonde hair and just looked so false., everyone that passed her did a double take. I'm sure she wasn't as old as she looked!

I don't do make up other than at parties type stuff. I am always so impressed when people are organised enough to put make up on every day before they leave their home in the morning.

Donbean · 30/07/2005 20:49

no me neither, i even sometimes dont brush my hair for a couple of days, just hoik it up into a bobble and away i go......doser!!!!!
I had a mate who wouldnt even go to the corner shop without her full face on, when she had kids, they came second to her looking good.
She often missed appointments for them and was always always late. She was a selfish spoiled vain person......who i no longer associate with.
Conversly, i have a very good friend who told me that the other day she took her hair out of the bobble and it stayed in place....stood on end!
She genuinely couldnt remember when she had last washed her hair. Dirty bitch! (we laughed allot at that none the less!)

Magscat · 30/07/2005 21:10

I never wear make up at work, Hardly ever anywhere in fact. I'm no natural beauty, just can't be arsed with it & it makes my skin feel crap.

bobbybob · 30/07/2005 21:11

I am make-upless at work. i work from home, and I make sure I wear proper shoes and nice clothes, but draw the line at make up.

ja9 · 30/07/2005 21:36

go to work without makeup?

shudder at the thought!

Blackduck · 30/07/2005 21:55

don't wear makeup ever...

Linnet · 30/07/2005 21:56

I don't ever wear makeup, don't even own any.

expatinscotland · 30/07/2005 22:36

My face w/o makeup - it's not a pretty sight.

mum2mikey · 30/07/2005 22:42

i used to wear loads of make up untill a couple of weeks ago and now i wear none. life is so much easier.

Mirage · 31/07/2005 22:37

Never wear make up to work, always wear sun protection on my face though,as I work outseide all day.

In my teens,I used to work in Lewis's Dept store & there were loads of scary orange faced women who manned the make up counters. The horrible thing was, that they used to arrive at work bare faced at 8am & then proceed to make themselves up by using the samples on the counters. The same samples that half of Leicester had been poking their grubby fingers in! Yuck!!!!

I still see some of them now behind the counters in Boots ect-20 years on & they are still orange faced with loads of mascara & lip liner.

marialuisa · 01/08/2005 11:18

I'm scared of make-up so don't really wear it. DH reckons that DDknows more about girly stuff than me and she's only 4.

I do if I am having a 'bad-skin-day' ie pre-menstrual blemishes or a tired and worn out day - dark circles & puffy eyes.

Come to think of it, maybe I should put on slap more often these days so I don't frighten my work mates!
