and am thinking it's time I learned.

I think I'm reasonably presentable in a natural kind of way.

I have a decent hair cut every 8 weeks, which I blow dry, but don't use "product" as for me you need to be able to run your fingers through hair.

I have my eyebrows professionally shaped and my (very fair) eyelashes tinted monthly. Other than that, my morning routine is moisturiser, bit of pressed powder and tinted lip balm.

Occasionally I try "real" lipstick/blusher/mascara, but always end up taking it off because I make myself look like one of those wooden puppet things.

How can I find out how to do it properly?

I had a makeover type thing at mac which was great - the assistant made up one eye and then talked me through making up the other. I now feel much more confident and am starting to enjoy makeup a bit. I think bobbi brown etc so the same thing.

Yeap - Bobbi Brown would be a good bet as their make up is more natural looking.
