Kerestase or redken.

ihatethecold · 25/04/2010 14:30

try biotic from kerastase, pricey but lasts for months.. brilliant stuff, you will be converted.

noddyholder · 25/04/2010 14:35

kerastase with the orange lid

CatJosephine · 25/04/2010 14:37

another vote for Kerastase. I also like Aveda but have not used it for a while.

AngelaChase · 25/04/2010 14:54

Paul Mitchell - Colour Protect - love it

I have to wash my hair every day too

cheeryface · 25/04/2010 14:55

wow lots of votes for kerastase then!

You see despite me normally having expensive tastes - I've never got on with redken or kerestase.

I have hi-lighted hair and like John Frieda sheer blonde.

southeastastra · 25/04/2010 15:02

i resent paying £££ for something that will just get washed down the plug! i use andrew collinge, but only because i have highlights and it's really good. otherwise wouldn't be too bothered

thelunar66 · 25/04/2010 15:10

I've always wanted to try that Kerestase stuff, but I can never find it in Boots etc.

Barbabelle · 25/04/2010 16:03

I love this shampoo. Very gentle, so great if you're washing every day - though not cheap. This conditioner is brilliant and works out quite good value as you don't need to use much.

SuSylvester · 25/04/2010 16:04

well if you have ££££ kerestase
i like tigi in the mean time

franke · 25/04/2010 16:07

I used to use the dark pink bottle Kerastase and liked it. At the mo I'm using Aveda Shampure - didn't like it at first but after a few washes really like the way my hair feels.

only put conditioner on the ends.

I worked in a Redken salon for year, swear by it, but you only need to use a little of the product. Plus it's a myth you need a good lather. Massage a small amount into your scalp gently, rinse and repeat. If it lathers a lot then it's probably alkaline ph, your scalp is acidic ph.

Don't use too hot water and don't over scrub as this produces more oil. Your scalp is skin after all and you wouldn't treat your face (hopefully) like that.

Good luck, hope you find a good shampoo.

Curiousmama · 25/04/2010 16:10

meant worked in the salon for years...too many truth be told

ShadeofViolet · 25/04/2010 16:12

thelunar66 - its a salon brand so you wont b able to buy it in the highstreet.

Try www.lookfantastic.com.

I like RedKen allsoft, works for my frazzled hair, or Tigi Bedhead Self Absorbed.

Curiousmama · 25/04/2010 16:20

looks good plus free postage...I'm tempted myself ph is right on this one.

cheeryface · 25/04/2010 19:59

thankyou i think for once i will buy something a bit more expensive than my usual ones.
not quite sure which yet though. Had a look at kerastase and there seemed alot of options!

kerastase!!! in the orange bottle. its amazing.

cheeryface · 26/04/2010 11:57

noddyholder , the one with the orange lid , is it ok for hair that gets greasy quite quick?
the biotic shampoo says its for combination hair but im not sure about the conditioner stuff that goes with it, its in little pods

I have normal hair that gets greasy after about 6 days so not sure.it makes my hair very bouncy though and it stays that way for a while.only use conditioner every other wash and only on the ends.Have run out atm and using ds's tresemme from supermarket and I can really see a difference

miche8 · 26/04/2010 12:32

i think the tresemme gave me spots on my scalp and back made my hair lovely and soft, was pregnant at the time so it might suit me better now, have loads of huge bottles to get through.

The redken is nice but not sure its worth the money. Love aveda mostly for the smell, but my current favourite is the l'oreal elvive, the one cheryl cole advertises, i'm now on my second bottle and my hair is so shiney and soft and now doesn't need washing every day. John frieda is another favourite.

ihatethecold · 26/04/2010 13:31

if you use cheap shampoo its like using washing up liquid with fragrance..
go on the kerastase website and it will guide you as to which shampoo is suitable for your hair..

STIGZ · 26/04/2010 13:39

im same as you- dry ends & greasy roots- i swear by aussi miracle

scratchmyback · 26/04/2010 18:55

My hair gets greasy and I have to wash it everyday. I have tried them all! Keratase makes my hair heavy and it gets greasy quicker with it.

I love the L'oreal Serie Expert range - I use the one for coloured hair.
