Why can't I click on your profile?

I would have to say no to red lipstick, because unless you have fabulously white teeth then it has a tendency to make teeth look yellow.

shoptilidrop · 25/04/2010 12:25

i dont know why profile isnt working....

give it a few mins maybe?

the right shade can make your teeth look whiter! i think it looks great

said · 25/04/2010 12:26

I think you suit it

tethersend · 25/04/2010 12:29

Yes yes yes!

Very nice.

Is it hot in here?

AitchTwoZone · 25/04/2010 12:38

love it!

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 25/04/2010 13:17

I love red lipstick and that looks fab on you - your face looks lighter and brighter! It's a great shade, do you mind if I ask which one it is - mine has been discontinued and I can't even find it on ebay any more, so I am on the hunt for a replacement.

Lovely!

shoptilidrop · 25/04/2010 14:39

its just some cheapy rimmel one i think. was actually brough as a joke to be part of some goth make up but i actually quite like it.

i wore it out( had a few earrands to run) and got chatted up by the 15 year old at the farm shop and got beeped at twice.

i am thinking i like this lipstick!!

popped in at mothers on way back, who again said how bloody terrible it looked.

ho hum

i think i shall be ditching the lip gloss for the time being

It looks fine. It's a very orangey red though which can make your teeth look yellow. (I'm not saying it makes yours look yellow!) I like reds which are a bit more of a rose red personally - worth a try!

iloveasylumseekers · 25/04/2010 14:51

I think you look absolutely gorgeous. I do love red lipstick, to the point of having my teeth bleached so that I could wear it without yellow teeth paranoia.

Zondra · 25/04/2010 15:25

You look fabulous! Really brightens your face! Keep wearing it!

Sandyrh · 25/04/2010 15:42

I love the red!

MegSophandEmma · 25/04/2010 15:44

It looks great!

Don't forget the odd victory roll, for your hair

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/04/2010 15:45

i love red lips with minimal eye make up. i always go for plummy reds so not to look like ive got yellow teeth.

i think it suits you.

FiveOrangePips · 25/04/2010 20:56

I like red lipstick, it suits you. I prefer a darker (more wine-like) and a more matte one - I just don't suit glossy lipstick.

sallyJayGorce · 25/04/2010 20:58

Wow - love it. You suit the red listick look VERY WELL.

SuziKettles · 25/04/2010 20:58

It looks great!

I love red lipstick but I don't have the personality to live up to it even though it quite suits me (redhead though so have to be v careful with the shade.)

Elemental · 25/04/2010 22:18

Yeah, it deffo does suit you! Although personally I think you would look even acer in a darker, and a little bit pinker red.

shoptilidrop · 26/04/2010 15:30

i shall have a look tomorrow while shopping.

worn it all day today. have noticed a few downsides:

  • you need a mirror to reapply, not like with gloss as any mistake is really noticeable
  • it gets on your teeth when you eat.
  • my lips feel quite dry ( as opposed to slick with gloss.

any advice?

MegSophandEmma · 26/04/2010 17:56

Just make sure you apply a super dose (thickish line) of matching lip liner and really only use the lippy within the line.

MegSophandEmma · 26/04/2010 17:57

also a sealent of some sort should sort out the lippy on teeth issue

bunnymother · 26/04/2010 19:57

Buy a good moisturising lipstick (which IME means avoid uber cheap). Clinique do good ones, but am sure there are others.

If you don't get sealant, that old trick of sucking on your fore-finger then drawing it out should pick up the lipstick that will otherwise end up on your teeth.

You look fantastic in red lipstick! I think a less orangey red (ie more blue-based, think blood red) would look even better.

MrsMotMot · 26/04/2010 20:16

It's very nice, ignore your mother. Although I also think it's a bit too orangey a red, and a more rosey shade would be even more lovely. Splash out, there is a red to suit everyone I think!

Horton · 26/04/2010 20:26

Gosh, that really suits you. Am jealous. Red lipstick looks bloody awful on me.
