I know it isn't your usual style hub really but I need to share this in grateful thanks.
I took back some wellies I got for ds1, yesterday, because I realised we'd bought a size 2 and a size 13 instead of a pair.
They were a fiver in the sale about a year ago. I'm sure I have the receipt somewhere but thought I'd try and exchange them as they've been sitting in the cupboard and he's not even that size yet!
The woman at the checkout said I could only swap them for more wellies, without the receipt - bizarrely - so we went and looked at what they had. The kids' ones didn't go big enough and the only other ones were luminous green in an adult 5 - I'm an 8 - or expensive mens ones. Until I saw these amazing starry ones with Joules on the front - one pair, in an 8, no box or price.
There was a woman nearby whom I asked and she came back saying they were £25, so I thought, it's these or nothing we can use.
When I went to pay, the chap at the till said 'Oh, I'll just do a straight exchange' and charged me for the other bits and bobs we got, but didn't add anything for the wellies. I couldn't believe it so I said 'erm - these are £25, those were £5 -'?
and he said 'I know, don't worry, forget it'!
Amazing! Why would he do that? I am so pleased with my lovely wellies, and they were only a fiver.
It's just occurred to me that maybe someone left them there!!! but they had a tag on and didn't look worn.
