Will someone please help me accessorise this dress?

Have bought this dress for a couple of weddings this year. Very flattering on and I'm chuffed with it.

I was thinking gold shrug/cardie from monsoon and gold wedges? Or not? I'm not sure which other colours would look ok - dark pinky-purple? I'm 5'9"

what jewellery? I have an increasingly jowlly chin so nothing too 'up' my neck, choker-style

any ideas please?

Lovely dress

I wouldn't wear a necklace only some fab earrings. Neckline is great and the V will give you a longer slimmer look.

Shrug and shoes in one of the colours from the dress would look great. Gold would work, - difficult to see the colours properly but looks like pinks, purples or lavenders might look nice too.

how about these

or are they over the top?

I would want some turquoise earrings I think, to pick up on that colour in the dress, and a bracelet, no necklace.

The gold shoes and cardigan would nice, you have many options with all those colours in the fabric.

I think gold would look lovely.

I don't have any advice really, just wanted to say what a lovely dress and I am very jealous of you having somewhere to wear it!

Nice dress, It's good that it suits you and is flattering on but as it's a loudish big print, I would choose a darker maybe purple shrug as there is some purple in the dress to bring it out more. I agree you don't need a necklace, or only a simple chain. Earrings depends on what you are going to do with your hair and whether it is going to be put up or left down, it would look more chic with less accessories, otherwise it could look cheap as there's alot of big patterned maxi styles about and some people will wear them as everyday dresses this summer

It is very pretty and beautifully boho.

I would suggest going for a very simple but quite big gold bangle and strappy but not too high matt gold coloured sandals with perfectly groomed finger and toe nails.

at 'perfectly groomed finger and toe nails'. Do stumpy nails on sausage fingers and spade-like toes count, I wonder?

Thanks for all the links to other sites. They are all lush. First wedding I'm going to in a few weeks times is ultra low-key and small so might go for the purplish cardie option, and then save the gold stuff for the big summer weddings.

My shoes are like this

and I bought this shrug from Monsoon today. It looks a bit pale and uninteresting on that photo but it's a nicer colour than that in RL

I'm liking teafortwo's suggestion of chunky gold bangle and I think I agree about the necklace. Although I'm a little bit self-conscious of my decolletage, being wrinkled and leathery less-than-perfect

Ha ha ha!!! My nails are a mess too... I was feeling a bit stressed about something and bit all mine off in two days flat!!! Grrrr!!!

[Why? Why? Why? emotion]

When I typed my earlier post I was rememebering a wedding I went to last year. You see there was a woman wearing something similar in vibe to your dress and she looked so pure and completely lovely in a sea of hats, fascinators, heels, formal dresses and very obvious make up.

IMVHO - THAT FAB dress, No necklace, big gold bracelet, light make up, windswept hair and neat French manicured toes and nails would finish off the natural, boho, pretty and Earthy look that dress screams perfectly. Soooo... Can you grow your nails in time???

[Not that I could ever emotion]

P.S - Love the shrug and shoes!!! !!!

Hurrah.

So for wedding number 1 (low key very private): dress, dark pink cardie, poss gold wedges or some gold glads with a bit of a heel (new look have got LOADS at the moment); simple long gold necklace, gold earrings, chunky gold bracelet, tousled hair, light tan (courtesy of Mr St.tropaz everyday lotion)

2nd and 3rd weddings in summer: as above but with gold shrug and maybe slightly more glam earrings/shoes

sorted. Thank you!
