I need some cheap hip shoes!

I am off to London to see a very trendy friend for a cultural night out, am country bumpkin-ish living in pumps or flip flops.

I want some cheap hip shoes, smallish heal (am tall) maybe wedges, open sandals, to wear with navy straight leg trousers.

I have not proper shoe shopped for years! What's in, what's out, where do I start, which shops?

Next and New Look have heaps of reasonably priced sandals.

If you like flip flops, there are some lovely toe post sandals on the next site that are a dressier version.
