Hideous, or ironically lovely?

I found these bad boys when perusing the office website. I think last time I saw such shoes was in about 1987, on our next door neighbour, wearing a boob tube and smelling of fags, BUT, they're growing on me ...

Same here! I reckon they'd be murder to walk in though

Feelingsensitive · 23/04/2010 14:58

I quite like them

Would look great on a long legged tanned 18 year old but not so great on a pastey legged 36 year old like me.

APassionateWoman · 23/04/2010 14:59

Nah. Look cheap.

Iklboo · 23/04/2010 15:08

Aaarggh. Flashback!!!!!

scurryfunge · 23/04/2010 15:11

Quite like them in a weird sort of way...bit high for me though...I'm a bit magpie-ish when it comes to shiny things

Ivykaty44 · 23/04/2010 15:13

more like 1977 grease

Ivykaty44 · 23/04/2010 15:14

AbsOfCroissant · 23/04/2010 15:24

They are growing on me, but I also can't get the mental image out of my mind of a cracked heel hanging off the back. Bleugh.

Nope - not for anyone over the age of 20.

toddlerama · 23/04/2010 15:31

Love them.

moondog · 23/04/2010 18:09

I quite like 'em.
Love the neighbour comments.
You are right though-you need those heels to be tiptop.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 23/04/2010 18:29

I quite like them too - had a slightly chunkier pair in sky blue about 12 years ago.

Depends on how much you enjoy pain though, I wore mine twice - much as I loved them, I couldn't actually walk more than about 5 yards in them

thursdaynamechange · 23/04/2010 18:30

Olivia Newton John was 30 when she did Grease not 40!

born in 1948 - Grease was 1978

BelleDameSansMerci · 23/04/2010 18:36

OMG!! I had a pair of these in about 1979 which I bought from Primark and hid from my mother as I was only 14. I used to hide them in the hedge and swiftly change into them on the way to Youth Club. I could hardly walk in them but I thought I looked very Olivia Newton-John!

I like them but I'm too old now...

LynetteScavo · 23/04/2010 18:37

I quite like them..but I think you'd have to have a BMI similar to Kate Moss to look good in them.

Personally, I would never be able to walk in them.

EggyAllenPoe · 23/04/2010 18:38

tiptop? topple over more like.

mangoandlime · 23/04/2010 18:39

They are what I would call 'Linda Mules'

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 23/04/2010 18:55

Are mules due a comeback then? There were loads around about 8 years ago but they seem to have all disappeared in favour of bloody gladiator sandals.

cyb · 23/04/2010 18:58

nah ,they need to be chunkier. And brown. They look too Teneriffe-y
