Hi,

I'm completely jacketless! Can anyone help. I'm 5ft4, size 12, brown hair. I really like this one:

but think a more fitted style might suit me better plus my budget is sub-£100 (I'll make an exception if it's a real classic)

Maybe this one (not sure)

Please help!

Link 2 won't work for me. I do like the first one, especially the back of it.

I'm having the same problem, but looking for a longer line one (to hide my big butt and saddle bags).

Can't get your 2nd link to work

I bought this in a light brown.

and this trench

The first is better in person, and I find it is the jacket I am grabbing to wear all the time. I also bought another black 3/4 jersey and a crinkle fabric, one but can't find a pic of it on line.

I second the trench. But don't get a black one, choose a lighter colour (camel/sand/beige or if you dare: white) instead. Black coats in summer are depressing. I have a short trench in a neutral colour and find it very versatile. Works over jeans and Converse for the playground or with smarter clothes for work.

You could try Massimo Dutti or Zara. They are quite good for basics and should fit your budget.

Sorry, haven't got time for links.

Zara have some great jackets in ATM. Next have also done well on the jacket front this year.

gtamom · 21/04/2010 09:58

I agree, a nice earth tone/neutral coloured trench is a great basic that can be used for years.

Thanks everyone. I think I will go down the neutral trench route. I like your short jacket gtamom. I'll check out Zara and Next and let you know how I get on!

By the way, here is link 2 again (if it works):
