Bra sizing help

If memory serves, there's someone floating around MN who's a genius on this.

I have tried to find out via t'internet what my likely size is, but keep on getting different answers.

My measurements are:

  • Under boob - 31 inches
  • Boob - 36 inches

I have a feeling the size I'm wearing at the moment is completely wrong.

TIA

so the difference is 5 inches. I think that equates to D doesn't it?

This might help:

Bravissimo Sizing

Marks and Spencer and John Lewis etc do a free fitting if there either of them near you.

BigBadMummy · 20/04/2010 17:34

oohh just found this:

Enter your measurements

I was way out!!!

AbsOfCroissant · 20/04/2010 17:37

Yeah, that second sizing I'm rather dubious of. Presumably if the bit around your body is 5 inches bigger than your body, the boobs would fall out the bottom, IYSWIM?

If it's 32D, DP will be happy!

When I look at the numbers I am always .

I am er well endowed in the boob department so the numbers are ridiculous!!

TheChewyToffeeMum · 20/04/2010 19:22

I would try 32D and 30DD/E. The calculations involving adding numbers always seem to be too big around the band and too small in the cup.

dottyaboutstripes · 20/04/2010 20:44

I measure 31 underneath and 37 over boobs and am 32E, so maybe you should try 32DD?

AbsOfCroissant · 20/04/2010 20:53

I've been wearing an A cup for years, so all this talk of Ds and DDs is taking a while to sink in

You should measure 28" under the bust to be a 32,you fall between a 34 and a 36,probably a 34 would be a better fit.I imagine a 34dd would be about right but you may need a 34D.Different makes will also vary in how generous they are in the cup and around the back.I would get a freya bra in a 34DD as the fit is pretty standard and then go from there if you need to size up or down.

CuppaTeaJanice · 20/04/2010 21:02

31 underneath + 5 inches = 36
Same measurement over = A

So you should be 36A.

hellymelly · 20/04/2010 21:08

Oh yes of course! I made a mistake and used the underbust measurement thinking I'd added the 4-5 inches.Cuppa tea is right.Do you look like an A? What are you wearing now?

At the moment, I'm wearing (and this is why I think I'm going totally wrong), either:

  • 32A
  • 32B or
  • 34A

These aren't super tight/uncomfortable. My boobs are rather wide set (iyswim?), so I don't know if that affects the measurement. I think I need to bring a professional in on this.

The reason why I'm a bit at D cups, is there is a space when I wear B cups. ARGH. Stupid breasts.
