It's that time of year again. Grow long enough to wax or shave?

During the winter I always get my legs waxed but in the spring / summer it's tricky to know what to do. Wear jeans while they are growing long enough to be waxed then were skirts while they are hair free or just shave, shave and shave.

What do you do/ And if you shave, are there good shaving products and bad shaving products?

TIA

ps. my dilemma is urgent as I cant get a waxing appointment and the hairs on my legs are at the stage where i probably could go to the hairdresser for a cut and blow dry

Epilate.
Same results as waxing but much cheaper. I swear by it.

I'm the opposite! I shave in the winter as I'm usually in jeans or thick tights so it doesn't matter if I have stubble, but in the summer I like to wax. I wear skirts/dresses when I'm nice and hair free and linen trousers or leggings under a dress to cover up the stubble at other times!! (Unless it's a typical British summer, then I'm back to my jeans again!!)

Used to epilate, but it made my eyes water!! Took too long on my gert long legs!! Waxing takes me minutes, where as epilating used to take an hour or more!! It was one of those old fashioned ones, though with the spring thing that rotated and ripped pulled the hair out!

Made the mistake of waxing my own underarms once....

if long enough, wait it out til you can get an appt. its not that warm out...

epilate - much quicker, easier and less painful than waxing. I have one that can get wet so it is just like shaving but i do it less often and avoid nasty stubble.

Epilate! I got one in Janaury, and its worth the pain. (which is now less painful than waxing)

thanks all. Off to investigate Epilate.

Which epilators do you all use?

muddleduck · 20/04/2010 18:17

I have this.

Braun

It has far too many unnecessary attachments and the switch is a bit fiddly but otherwise I'm very pleased with it (but have nothing to compare it to). I do like that I can use it in the shower and it charges very quickly.

epilate. I have a Braun Silk Epil.... the simplest one, no fancy cooling attachments or anything. It's great... the first stroke on each leg stings but then endorphins kick in and it's actually oddly relaxing.

although my bikini area needs doing and i can't be arsed buying a razor just for that but am scared to epilate so am dithering about what to do.... I haven't had this much hair down there since i was a teen and it's bothering me [weirdo]
