I've left it very late because my birthday is Saturday but i'm going to be 30 and i'm having a party with nothing to wear

I'm size 18-20 and have huge legs so trousers and tops are the way to go

I'd like to look nice but have no clue whatsoever. Just spent the day wandering around meadowhall trying to find something with not much luck so i'm going back later

Any help would be greatly appreciated

i get lots of stuff from simply be . you can pay extra for next day delivery. but they have a range of lovely trousers, , wide leg are good, you can wear with a wedge for extra height and slimming effect,

boden goes up to a size 22 you know... they do lovely tunics and dresses you could wear as a top over trousers

monsoon and good old M&S go up to larger sizes too

can you get away with dress/tunic over leggings with wedges?

one colour top to toe gives a sleeker sillouhette, good accesories are a must, long necklaces etc...

I was thinking dress with leggings and some nice heels

I just tend to put myself down i think and i'm rubish at choosing
I never made it to m&s because dh decided he'd had enough
will have a look at simply be too

How tall are you? What about a maxi dress that skims over things?

northernmonkey · 20/04/2010 14:29

I'm 5.7

Not thought of a maxi dress
I did try this but it was all boobs!!

this But I know what you eman about the boobs thing- could wear a strapless/boob tube type thing underneath for a bit of modesty? Would be fab with big bronze/gold jewellery and gladiator sandals.
