I have a wedding to go to next week and the price i have been given for a full head of highlights and cut is nearing on 80 quid.
does this sound expensive to anyone? Just seems alot to spend...?

Sounds reasonable to me - I pay a bit more than that.

Sounds very cheap to me... I usually pay £80 for a half head of highlights alone, plus another £50 for a cut. Hence I have shocking roots and straggly hair! I'm in Surrey

GypsyMoth · 20/04/2010 09:51

£90 here in bedfordshire.....but worth it!

muddleduck · 20/04/2010 10:19

sounds reasonable, but do you really need full head?

RockSteady · 20/04/2010 10:27

I had a hairdresser come to my house, i think it cost about 40 or 50 quid including a cut!and she was good too. Can you get a mobile hairdresser?they're usually cheaper

EldonAve · 20/04/2010 10:37

£150 in outer London

apple99 · 20/04/2010 10:55

I pay £42 for a cut and either £55 or £80 depending on if I have full or half head or highlights so I would say pretty cheap.

superv1xen · 20/04/2010 11:09

i pay £125 for my full head highlights. every 5 - 6 weeks as my hair grows freakishly fast!

my hair is shoulder length and very thick.

twolittlemonkeys · 20/04/2010 11:11

I have paid £152 for that in Surrey but my current hairdresser (E Mids) charges £71 for cut and full head of highlights (£66 for short hair)

I have a fantastic girl who has coloured my hair since she was a trainee - she hates cutting and has concentrated on colours.

Anyway for her to do a semi with some highlights scattered through it is £60. If I were to get the girl who cuts my hair to cut too it would be over £100 in total, so I think you are being charged an average but fair price.

Also, it depends if your hair is long or short.

Any chance you could get a trainee to do it - it will take longer, but much much cheaper.
