It just sounds so smug doesnt it, like everyones favourite uncle, Johnnie B? anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone of you had bought anything, not for yourself but, for a youngster. Niece is turning 8 and wants a hoodie for camping, I thought about Fatface but was put off on here and they have them in the range but 36 quid is alot to pay for an 8 year old!! if they are good quality fair enough. Also, the flowery canvass shoes look really nice. They do look abit different. Anyone bought them? thanks.

I have bought stuff for myself and DS1 (9) from the range. I have been very impressed with the quality - lovely soft fabrics and good finish.

Before you order, check out any reviews on the item you are interested in. I got loads of info re sizing and finish from them (sizing can be a bit variable, iyswim).

yes, she is quite a big soon to be 8 year old, thats why I though a hoodie would be ideal.

For an 8yr old it would be cheaper to order from mini boden.

Have just discovered that NOB'ED is an anagram for Boden

Johnnie NOB'ED!

Sorry, it's been a long day.

I know but they havent got a hoodie for camping in the mini Boden range, they one they have got isnt in nice colours and it looks thin.

How big is she? I have a size small cardi from JB and it fits just about right. Am petite, but bigger than most 8 year olds.

shes into aged 10, she just needs to stretch!

I've bought some stuff for my giant dses, aged nearly 10 and nearly 12.

I was really impressed. Lovely thick, soft fabrics and nice designs - the boys really like it, as well.

I think if I get small, it will give her room to grow, shes a size 4 foot already! Her sister was the same but now she is stretched shes a right skinny minnie.

Bought DD1 (11) 4 XS items in the '4 for 3' offer. They were still a little bit pricey but she did like them. The hoodie is more waisted and slightly longer than the mini-boden version - in fact that's the item she has worn most. But I think it would have to be a tall 8 yr old.

tulpe · 20/04/2010 14:11

I would say if she is already in aged 10 mini-Boden stuff then go for the Small size in Johnnie B. My 9 year old DS is also in the 10-11 age range in mini Boden and was definitely in need of the Small rather than XS in the teen range.

kittya · 20/04/2010 14:40

thanks, it does go up quite abit in price but the Mini Range is abit bright. Im not sure that she is into applique t shirts, they are abit young. Its a funny age.

My tall slim 13 year old (5 foot 8; adult size 10)ordered a medium skirt (far too small) small shirt (far toosmall) and medium bikini (covered nothing!)so I think it is meant for quite small kids on the whole.

kittya · 20/04/2010 20:34

I will go up a couple of sizes then. Im not sure what to do yet. she just needs a good cover up for camping, I wouldnt buy her the other clothes in that range, are the models the skinniest teenagers you have ever seen?
