What to wear - a tall dilemma.

It's my 50th next month and the girls and I are out for dinner and a bit of a dance.
I am 6 feet, slim, never wear dresses or skirts. Mainly because I then would have to wear heels, which although I love them, make me feel and look even taller and self conscious. I can't carry off a maxi dress.
So it will be trousers again- has anyone seen any really nice tops/tunics? I suit fitted as opposed to floaty- have dark hair/pale skin.

deaddei what about wide leg trousers ballet pumps, batwing type embelished top and funky beads.casual but v smart,Perhaps black and red as the colours to go with your hair colouring.I bought a lovely tunic/shift dress embelished in Peacocks of all places only 20 quid.Sorry don't know how to link.What about smart plain coloure harem pants from the yasmil le bon line at wallis with a cropped bolero jacket an ballet pump flats.that would look great on .I scoffed at these but I am 42 5'8 and size 10 they look cool on so they would be fab on you,especially with crp jacket
