Cheap alternative to Beauty Flash Balm

I used to use Beauty Flash Balm when I was working and had money to spare on expensive beauty products but now broke and looking for a cheaper alternative. Any product out there you would recommend that act in a similar way?

i get mine on ebay, miles cheaper

nothing else works as well IMO

brimfull · 19/04/2010 08:15

cyb- do you put moisturiser under or over the beauty flash balm?

BlueberryPancake · 19/04/2010 08:28

When I was using it (!) I'd put it under moisturiser (if needed) and make up.

So it was eye cream, balm, and tinted moisturiser plus a bit of make up.

I've heard good things about a Superdrug own brand one, but can't remember what it's called.

brimfull · 19/04/2010 08:35

right thanks

policywonk · 19/04/2010 08:38

Someone on here (cod?) reckons it's basically vaseline.

McDreamy · 19/04/2010 08:44

Just how good is it? (Desperately needs to update skincare regime)

cyb · 19/04/2010 13:05

gg I moisturise, apply BFB then starigt away slap make up on top while its still dampish

I always look better with it, but dont want to rely on it too much!

Blueberry, a cheaper alternative, they say, is Supedrug's Natural High. I've never tried the clairns one, but am happy with the superdrug one. At the mo it's half price too, so only £1.95. Worth a try, I think. I put it on under moisturiser.

ClickNegg · 19/04/2010 17:00

no its bascally witch hazel
neve mentioned vaseline

Monadami · 19/04/2010 17:06

I use Beauty Flash Blam, but have no idea what it's for. I bought some Clarins products recently and they gave me some 1/2 size samples. What is it for?

policywonk · 19/04/2010 17:11

witch hazel, sorry. It's eight-hour cream that's basically vaseline.

cyb · 19/04/2010 17:45

it is NOT witch hazel

this is witch hazel

ClickNegg · 19/04/2010 17:52

lol

I love it and deffo look better when I'm wearing it but try to restrict myself to once or twice a week. I didn't like the Superdrug one - too sticky. Dp got me mine for Christmas when they were doing a set which had a full size BFB and a full size hand cream plus a few other bits and pieces, so it worked out at really good value overall.

Dollytwat · 19/04/2010 19:11

It's not moisturiser - the lady from Clarins told me I was using it wrong and wasting it.

She said you're only supposed to use it a few times a week, and you DON'T rub it in, you just smooth it over like foundation.

I had a facial a few weeks ago and she mixed a bit of foundation with BFB and the effect was lovely and I've been doing that ever since.

cyb · 19/04/2010 19:12

yes mixing it with fopundation is great, I only have mineral or solid foundation atm though

janeite · 19/04/2010 19:15

Deffo don't rub it in - it goes all flakey.

Dollytwat · 19/04/2010 20:42

this is quite a good site for cheaper Clarins
