urgh pale blue

bobbiewickham · 18/04/2010 15:25

I once wore blue nail varnish.

My mother said it looked like I had a bad heart.

So that was that.

cyb · 18/04/2010 15:25

lol

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/04/2010 15:44

lol bobbie

IndigoSky · 18/04/2010 15:49

For toes or fingers?

I'm with Bobbie's mum - I just don't get weird colours on fingers.

I am getting old.

And not a goth type.

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 15:49

there's a nailvarnish TSV today on QVC.Have ordered.

cyb · 18/04/2010 15:50

oh I saw that corny

never bought any Lenny Deighton before

great colours though

why arent you outside enjoying the sun instead of watching shopping channels with your curtains shut?

says she.....

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 15:51

there is no sun here!

cyb · 18/04/2010 15:54

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 15:55

I've just St Tropezed myself. That'll do me. Am perching on very end of buttocks to avoid white splodge.

cyb · 18/04/2010 15:58

I really really need to fake tan too. I look grey
and pink with lines of blue thereabouts

not good

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 21:13

Mine still hasn't turned brown. I got that new stuff with no weird smell.I'd better be brown in the morning.

southeastastra · 18/04/2010 21:15

i have the nails inc turquoise, it looks awful, i thought it would really suit me

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 21:17

I can't get used to these new fangled nail colours. That cringy Andrew Stone off Pineapple Studios wears black nail varnish and he looks like a right twat.

MoChan · 18/04/2010 21:28

I don't understand why blue is any weirder than any other colour. Why is it more 'natural' to have nails painted red, or pink, or whatever? It's not especially natural to paint them any colour is it?

Just curious.

cornsilk · 18/04/2010 21:34

It's just wrong!

cyb · 18/04/2010 21:36

i wear navy blue but wouldnt wear pale blue

pale colours look terrible on me anyway, I'm a dark girl usually

IndigoSky · 19/04/2010 09:39

I think a lot depends on your complexion. Dark skins always seem to work so much better with brighter/deeper/more exciting colours imvho.

I am pale and blonde and find that anything other than an almost clear nail colour makes me look like a vampire (reds, purples, dark pinks) or an ice queen with frost bite(blues, greens etc). Bizarrely I like dark coloured toenails (purples and deep reds) so I'm probably contradicting myself totally!

MoChan · 19/04/2010 15:41

I wear pretty much any colour on my nails, but not necessarily in any shade. I would wear yellow, for example, but not the neon kind...

I like blue, though, and wear it quite a lot, pale, dark, medium. I've got some very, very dark blue that I like to paint glittery stuff over so that it looks like a starry night.

Perhaps I should grow up about it. I just don't want to.

Furball · 19/04/2010 15:51

I bought dark blue a few years ago - it looked awful.

But like moChan says - why is blue any different to bright red or purple? I don't know, but on my nails blue does looks terrible.

FakePlasticTrees · 19/04/2010 15:59

I will never wear blue nail varnish on my toes after a conversation I had with a dear friend of mine. She works with IT stuff and a couple of years ago was sorting out getting 'content' onto mobiles - and the people who were the forefront of this technology are the porn industry.

Normally she wasn't involved with anything other than techie-ness, but when they were about to go 'live' with a new product she had to download and watch 20+ different videos to check they worked. She'd described some of hte v v dodgy stuff on those films (was a little harder core than most people would watch). She mentioned that in every video involving woman, there was at least one actress with blue toenail varnish and had pondered if they'd all gone to the same place for pedicures.

I decided blue wasn't the colour for me.

Acanthus · 19/04/2010 15:59

The leighton denny stuff is really good.
