Crocs ARE wrong on anyone over eight, right?

getthewineinthefridge · 17/04/2010 19:48

Not great on the under 8's either (though both my DC's are permanently attached to theirs) but no reason that any adult should wear them is there?? Worrying numbers being seen now this nice-ish weather has decsended...

Uggs are the worse

foureleven · 17/04/2010 21:08

Def not for the school run. Your child would inevitably be shunned for the remainder of the day for having a croc mum

MrsMalcolmTucker · 17/04/2010 21:12

I wear crocs, even for the school run.

But tbh, if you could see the state of me most days, you'd see crocs are the least of my worries.

(skips away in her comfy shoes, humming cheerfully)

mrsruffallo · 17/04/2010 21:15

I wear mine pottering the house only
maybe when I am taking the rubbish out

scrappydappydoo · 17/04/2010 21:17

Are we just talking the cayman crocs here or are all the styles a no no??
I have no style so I don't know these things...

Ah but once they've got themselves in to your possession there is a chance that 'garden' will extend to 'the post box' then 'the school run' next you'll be happily sat in costa with the blighters attached to your feet... just say no!

whifflegarden · 17/04/2010 21:39

I'm usually quite stylish and don't have a pair but was considering buying a pair to live in during the summer. I drive to school btw and only get out of the car in the afternoon to walk a few metres to the front door.
So really? I still don't understand why they're so baaad but guess I'll have to go back to the drawing board if you ALL say so

whifflegarden · 17/04/2010 21:40

But why? Why are you all so down on crocs. They look tres comfy.

foureleven · 17/04/2010 21:42

I feel its to close to adult-dressing-as-child

Surprise · 17/04/2010 21:48

The entire family (all four of us) has Crocs. However, they are ONLY for wearing in the garden and for camping. I bought my Dad a pair and made him swear that he wouldn't wear them anywhere other than at home (also advised him to remove his socks while wearing them).

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 17/04/2010 22:12

I've worn them the last couple of years as house/putting-the-bins-out shoes because I couldn't find anything else, but last week I got a pair of soft and squishy ballet flats from Topshop, so now my feet are finally pretty as well as practical < preens >.

Crocs are hideous full stop.

God there awful! hideous looking!

Bloody comfy though! I love mine!

butterscotch · 18/04/2010 00:02

The traditional ones are bloody ugly but comfy I own 3 pairs in 3 different styles!

The flip flops are lush, for comfort if you stick to black or white aren't too hideous and if you put cream on your feet nightly they do exfoliate you're feet for you so you don't have to do that yourself . They are as comfy my fitflops but the exfoliating thing is a big bonus IMHO!

The fur lined ones are great with jeans for getting in and out of the house with DC's as you can slip them off easily and they are soooooo warm! My stylish friend from NY introduced me to them I only wear them with Jeans!

My traditional cayman styles ones only really get worn around the house these days although as they are hot pink I have been known to wear them with a hot pink skirt (to walk along the beach only!)

They are great to take on holiday as well as they pack to light!

Monadami · 18/04/2010 01:32

I would agree, the are embarrassing and very odd indeed.

Alouiseg · 18/04/2010 21:30

I forgot I was wearing mine today and actually left the house in them.
Dh was mortified as I got out of the car........White linen blouse..check, skinny blue jeans..check, bouncy shiny hair..check, Lime green crocs. God I felt an idiot!

bunnymother · 18/04/2010 22:38

I loathe them. If you are looking for comfortable, casual slip on shoes, try Havaianas.

diddl · 19/04/2010 07:57

Too wide for me & too soft a sole.

Makinglists · 20/04/2010 18:49

Looks like I'm wearing purple pasties on my feet - resisted them for years but relented last year - horrible, horrible but soo cumfy!!!
