Any drastic procedure for dark undereye circles?

I've got very fair skin and since childhood have always had faint dark undereye circles but through my 20's (I'm 31) as I have had worsening health problems they have become much worse and absolutely permanent. I've tried lots of over the counter stuff in the past and not had any luck and now I am thinking of taking it up a notch. Basically I'm getting vain as I am having multiple near death experiences (please excuse my macabre sense of humour)

So anyway know of any really great ways to get rid of them? Its also the sides of my nose that are darker than normal. when I put makeup on it does cover it up and I look nice but I had my pic taken and the flash shows it up all over again and I look ghastly and ill again.

May I direct you here

joyce you may be using too pale a concealer. do try the triangle technique...it has made mine less noticeable but the colour of concealer has to be right

do you wear blusher? I find a bit of that and fake tan makes me look 100% better too

cocolepew · 17/04/2010 12:05

I find the Garnier Roller concealer to be very good, there was a thread about but I can't find it.

ooh that triangle link is fab! I do use blush because otherwise I look like Keats before he passed from consumption. lol oh sorry. Really I hope I'm not offending anyone. Not everyone finds my dark sense of humour as funny as I do. I dont do any fake tan though because I am just so lily pale that I try to just work with what I've got by warming it up the blusher way really. Now I have to find 2 concealers the right shade?!?! That's a task and a half.

I dont bother with the two-just find one thats not too light for your shadows

Will Touche Eclat work ok doing this triangle thing, or willl I look like I've let my three year loose with a highlighter pen?! Am loathe to spend more on expensive concealers.

betty touche eclait too pale IMO

I get benefit boi-ing concealer from ebay, miles cheaper. i do paint a line of touche eclait in my deepest purple crevice sometimes....

BettyTurnip · 17/04/2010 12:23

Ok, might try eBay then. I'm sick of being told I look tired when I've actually had a good night's kip.

hi joyce, first time i'm posting but i identify with your problem.

my undereye circles have improved greatly by naturally thickening the skin. i was tired of creams and concealing so decided to do something which i would have balked at before, as we have all been told how delicate the skin surrounding our eyes is and that we musn't stretch or handle it 'cause that would permanently damage/wrinkle it etc.

a facial excercise program i became interested in advocates the handling of skin as a means to making it thicker and more elastic. it's working quite well for me, although the dark circles have not disappeared completly and perhaps never will but the big improvement is there.
for the past six months or so i have been gently pinching/rubbing/pulling the skin surrounding my eyes, also a couple of very quick and easy eye exercises and the whole area is now quite firm....i know most people would be loath to do this, but at almost 53 my eye area is looking much better that has done in years.

sorry, keyboard playing up so can't type uppercase/capitals

A friend of mine had hyaluronic (?sp) acid fillers for her dark circles and bags, the result was amazing!!

She has them done once a year I think.
