Hi, dont know which dress to wear for a christening (my daughters).

Have got both dresses at home and cant decide.

They are both from Dorothy Perkins (sorry cant seem to get the link to work)!

One is a white lace border shift dress
The other is orange tile shift dress.

Help its on Sunday!! confused

Is this the 1st one

dress 1

paddingtonbear1 · 16/04/2010 18:18

and this dress 2?

orange tile

If it was me I'd probably go for dress 1, the white one.

I'd go for 2 on Paddington's link, if only because wearing white with a small baby around seems like a recipe for disaster!

Both nice dresses though.

janeite · 16/04/2010 18:21

Both nice but agree that white could be risky!

IngridFletcher · 16/04/2010 18:21

I like the Orange Tile one for this time of year. The white one is nice but a bit to high summer.

nicds · 16/04/2010 18:24

Yeah they are the ones thanks. Dont no why I couldn't get it to work.

My OH has made the same comment about white, but just feel that I would be more likely to wear the white one after, to the pub and on holiday etc. Plus it looks like the sort of dress that wouldnt date!!

orange tile one

white is lovely but orange more practical

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/04/2010 18:27

Both are lovely but agree orange one is probably more practical

samsonara · 16/04/2010 18:32

white one is gorgeous smart , but timeless, will be lovely in the photos if your daughter is wearing christening dress , the other one looks nice but more ordinary because of the print

nicds · 16/04/2010 18:34

Yeah thanks Samsonara thats what I am thinking, its a bit more classy than the other. Have got three children now and have always wore white trousers etc with them and not had a problem!! smile

I agree with Ingrid that white one is a bit more summery. Both are lovely though and I would choose the 2nd

tethersend · 16/04/2010 18:39

I prefer the white one- what are you wearing on your legs?

nicds · 16/04/2010 18:43

Dont know whether to go for black tights or nude ones. I have got some black patent mary jane type shoes.

tethersend · 16/04/2010 18:44

I think I would go for the white dress with black tights.

tethersend · 16/04/2010 18:45

Or nude.

Gah.

I don't know either!

Both would be nice. But not at the same time

samsonara · 16/04/2010 18:50

nude or black would both go, I think if it's a sunny day nude would look great, if it's cooler then black would look good the shoes would suit both.

Feelingsensitive · 16/04/2010 18:52

I like both but also think the orange one will be better with a baby around.

Feelingsensitive · 16/04/2010 18:53

Just had a thought. Wear the white one and then take the orange one as back up the white one gets dirty.
