Hello.

I need some comfy non frumpy shoes to see me through the summer that are not expensive.

I am pregnant with DC2 due in August, so really need something that i can run around after a toddler in.

Also, i don't wear trainers.

Thank you wise mnetters

birkenstocks - some may think tad frumpy - but I have a red pair that will come out again this year and will be worn constantly in warmer weather with stripey breton tops, red cardi and other red/nautical type clothing

Alicetheinvisible · 16/04/2010 19:12

I really don't like Birkinstocks - sorry

clarks have some nice comfortable ballet flats, only they have a tiny wedge. Think they are clarks originals. They didn't look frumpy

flibertygibet · 16/04/2010 19:34

Fit flops...very very comfy...get silver or gold and they brighten up everything...

tethersend · 16/04/2010 19:42

How about loafers?

Or plain white lace up plimsolls?

Or of course the ubiquitous ballet flat...

tethersend · 16/04/2010 19:44

Or gladiators if you want sandals...

scurryfunge · 16/04/2010 19:45

these look comfy, are they too frumpy?

Fleecy · 16/04/2010 19:45

Hi Alice!

I have heard good things about £19.50 M&S ballet flats and some of the Gap ones too.

New Look have some lovely leather flat sandals and gladiators for £20-25ish.

How far along are you now?

bluecardi · 16/04/2010 19:49

Wore clarks ballet style flats when preg last summer - feet easy in & out plus very comfy if feet swell www.clarks.co.uk/find/department-is-women/customproductattribute2-is-pumps/SubProductType-is-pumps

I've got those Next ones. They're lovely and comfy and I've had loads of positive comments on them

Alicetheinvisible · 16/04/2010 20:22

Ooh, thanks, will definitely get them then

I have some shoes that colour and they're surprisingly versatile - they brighten up plain trousers/jeans and t-shirt combos nicely.

NorkilyChallenged · 16/04/2010 21:01

I was looking for green shoes all last year. Love the colour.

Jewelsandgems · 16/04/2010 21:07

I have these:

here in the tan colour and they are really comfortable and - although not the most beautiful shoes ever I like them Very good for running around aftr toddlers and look nice with leggings, summery stuff and also with jeans/tights+dresses.

BusyMummy78 · 16/04/2010 21:23

I'm going to buy these.

Clarks also do them in ballet pump style.
