Want some help as really would quite like a maxi dress for spring/summer but want something I can get some wear out of so:
something that can be layered in some way for cooler days
something that doesn't look like an evening dress but equally not too ott ok print front..

So far have seen(and rejected) boden one so looking for other tips on style.

Oh am about a 12 , mid height and don't have any particular issues re big/small bust (which can see could be an issue with some stuff).

Please help stylish people...

I love this it's a lot nicer in real life than the pic. Unfortunatley being 5'1 it swamped me, but is a gorgeous dress, think it would look lovely with a little cropped cardi or denim jacket, gold flip flops or wedges and lots of chunky bangles

weirdly, littlewoods have got loads of nice casual ones.

My friend has the miss selfridge one, it's gorgeous.

I got a really nice plain purple jersey tiered one in next, £35, looks terrible in the catalogue and on the hanger, but when you try it on it does everything a good dress should do. Skims the bits you want skimming, hugs the bits you want hugging. I wore it to a kid's afternoon birthday party the other day with a light waterfall cardi and flip flops, and i hope it looked appropriately pretty but casual!!

tried this on today
totally fell in love with it, problem is its quite a "dressy" dress and not sure how much I'd wear it given the £60 price tag. mmmmmm should I go back and try it on again? I love the maxi dress but don't tend to go for them due to my height (or lack of) anyway its gorgeous anyone who's looking for a maxi that flatters!

oh clure you're my height, i didn't think i could wear maxis...but did the warehouse dress come out ok then even with the shortness petiteness?

questions2008 yes it was a good length, althouth I did try it on with my wedge sandals, think you could get away with flatter sandals though not sure if the bottom of the dress would get a bit grubby! I would like to go back and try a smaller size, I tried the 8 on but due to lack of norkage I had to hoik it up and this resulted in the under arm bit jamming right up in my armpits. I'm still tempted. I think because it wasn't too floatey and have masses of gathers I didn't feel drown in it, deffo a good dress for shorties!
