Fat calves and knee-high boots..

Hmm..
Not sure if this is a style/beauty or a exersize/health question, but here goes.. Hope you can help.

I have a really gorgeous pair of black leather, knee-high biker boots with heels.. They were quite expensive and have only worn them once..
They have been sitting at the back of the wardrobe for best part of a year now as I didn't have many clothes that went with them.

Anyway, I tried them on today.. They zip up until about an inch from the top.

What I'm wondering if there are any 'fat calves' exersizes I could do to get them to zip up properly? I do walk quite alot. Anything else I can try?

Thread a piece of string through the zip and use that for extra leverage to pull them up. As they're leather, they should 'give' and get wider a little as you wear them. (although if you don't want to permanently stretch them, obv this is no good and you'll need to get thinner - not sure how as presumably specific exercises would build up the muscles. Maybe just general cardio/eat less?)

Tried the string on the zip idea, but cut my leg! So that's a no go for now. Thanks anyway Intergalactic!

I am on a diet just now so eating less. But the walking and exersize bike does seem to be making my calves bigger, not fat as such, but more muscly.

Anyone else any idea? Really want to wear them to an event coming up in the next two months. x

lie down and stick your leg in the air, foot pointing to the ceiling... gravity seems to help a bit, I've had the same problem

Depends - would you prefer to shrink your calves or make your boots fit your calves? You can get boots stretched, try taking them to a cobbler.

Losing bulk from your calves is very difficult. Make sure you are stretching them out regularly - not just when you have been exercising but do it morning and evening or something - that should help to lengthen the muscles.

Ideally I would like smaller calves, thinner legs, etc.. But just want the bloody boots to fit again!

Cheat

Take them to a cobblers and ask them to insert a triangle of leather or elastic into the seam. Hey presto! 'Thinner legs'.

V difficult and unlikely to lose bulk from your calves I would've thought unless you lose a LOT of weight. I've been runinng for the past year and has not altered the dimenions of my calves one bit.

I would definitely go with the cobbler option!
