I rediscovered John Lewis, I buy most of my clothes and accessories in there

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 11:10

they ahd a relaunch didnt they.
there is still quite a staid vibe there though. and i feind myself getting hassled by the diffo zones.

" ooh look one foot in Alexon and one in ted Baker"

I don't know, it is a little confusing although it allows you to judge clothes by what they look like rather than the label.

I tend to use the Southampton one

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 11:14

i saw you there.
i stalked you

I love their coloured tights section, I spent £50 on coloured tights in a recent visit.

DD hates it though, anything she does like tends to be too much money.

lostinwales · 12/04/2010 11:20

OMG that cuff is absolutely beautiful, it will go perfectly with my dress for next week, £20 pounds duly spent. I love MN!

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 11:21

I am loving the stupid video for the bracelet. What was the point in making that?!

noddyholder · 12/04/2010 11:31

Step away from JL my mum shops there as a religion and remember she is lulu tastic and waterfall cardigans and cuffs are de rigeur with her and her friends

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 12:54

lol
you might have to accept your Mum has a modicum of taste as you get older?!

OP posts:
noddyholder · 12/04/2010 12:58

She has taste but she is in her 60s and those cuffs are 'uniform' for older women trying to be a bit artistic.A nice simple twist of indian silver understated and not showy!

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 12:58

but isnt that good?
she sounds really cool. like a judi dench type.
rather that than thora hird

It is good but you are not even 40!They are not doing it to look young it is what 60+ wear On her it does look stylish but they are definitely making a statement about being older and groovy .

noddyholder · 12/04/2010 13:03

You would love her bf she says older womaen wear big bold jewellery to distract from teh fact that their figures and faces aren't what they were!Ditto flowy judi dench clothes which my mm loves and she looks good in them but while you can still look good in your 30s you should plenty of time for linen and coral!

wastwinsetandpearls · 12/04/2010 20:13

I live in big bold jewellery to hide the fact that my figure and face is not what it was.

cornsilk · 12/04/2010 20:14

dh always buys me jewellery from JL.When he buys it that is.
