Are christenings usually formal dress code?

going to one tomorrow.. was planning on wearing a black dress, tights, shoes, nice bag and accesories.. smart, but not OTT i don't think.. dress is an interesting shape, sort of asymetric and has ruched bits .. it is nicer than it sounds !

or is it more trousers and a nice top sort of thing, at a christening?

There will be dresses -the sun is out!

Lulumaam · 10/04/2010 17:53

my dress is more wintery though

do have a summery maxi dress, but i won't be warm enough

oh hell. i have no time/£ for shopping and i was relying on the LBD old faithful

bum on a stick

The last christening I went to everyone was in a dress (tight, short, low-cut, animal print) so I felt very non-descript in a ted baker dress, heels and bag.

I would definately go for the dress (and so what it you look the most gorgeous?)

no LBD is perfect as it's still a bit chilly out when there's no sun

LAst one we had ehre I wore black silk dress (Next outlet salke, £1.99- cheers! ), shift type, with grey nice - cardi thing and tights and heels

We live near the Church and so always get to see the people attending events- my fave so far was the funeral where several guests turned up in catsuits! Different LOL

thanks girlies! that makes me feel better.

if i am totally overdressed, it is 5 minute drive from home to whizz back and get changed.

would a lime green patent bag be wrong with a black outfit, to add a pop of colour, or would it be ok?

Colour is good, it's a cheerful occasion! I've just bought this for my son's Christening.

Lulumaam · 10/04/2010 18:52

that's gorgeous
