only last a week for a pot. I got some from ELF, and have been using the concealer and foundation for a week and they are both empty, whereas my usual maxfactor cream stuff lasts for about 2.5 months.

It should last way way longer than that!

The ELF stuff comes in tiny pots doesn't it? About 3 grams?

You could try Lily Lolo or Bare Escentuals, they both do much bigger pots, more than double the size and if you are needing to use a lot of the ELF (which sounds like you are) then they are both better quality too so you should use less.

Hope that helps?

My sample pots from Lilylolo last longer than that! Are you applying it properly? You only need a tiny bit you know, you buff it in, its not like spreading powder on your face IYSWIM?

My large pot from Bare Escentuals lasts about 3 months, longer if I am going through a naked phase.

You only need to use a little at a time for good coverage, as long as you buff well.

AngryWasp · 09/04/2010 10:29

I think I buff okay, but I have teenage acne that never left and so have to cover up red angry spots, so it isn't a matter of a light colouring, it is a matter of putting on a mask. I expected to have to use more, just as I use more of the liquid stuff (need to do neck and any exposed chest too) but my liquid stuff still manages to last.

Perhaps I'll try another brand then, although I really can't afford £££. I do like the feel of the powder though.

have you got debenhams near by? go in and see if they have a bare essentials counter... are you tapping off the excess from the brush?

mankyscotslass · 09/04/2010 10:35

I have Rosacea, and my skin is badly marked in places and have lots of very red patches, and thread veins. I use some of the Bare Escentuals concealers over the foundation powder, and it works ok. HTH

AngryWasp · 09/04/2010 10:47

Oh yes I tap. I even got a smaller brush in the end to make sure it didn't all puff into the air with my rigorous buffing.

FWIW, I have acne scars on my cheeks too, and I didn't get along very well with the ELF stuff, not enough coverage (£3.50, suppose you get what you pay for).

IME the ones with better coverage are Bare Minerals, Everyday Minerals (who do an Intensive formula, and Lilylolo. In that order.
