My new short haircut update.....

Some of you may remember I decide to have my long hair cropped boyishly short and I thought I would give everyone an update on how it's going. Well basically I LOVE it! I can now understand why most short haired girls do prefer short hair once they have cut off long. I feel so free and liberated, no blowing daily, constantly in shape and no boyfriends telling you not to cut it off as it's already all gone!! It was cut again over the weekend and this time I had it coloured Red, I have put a new pic on my profile for people to see. The only down side I have found is that it is best to trim it every 3 to 4 weeks if you want to keep the shape of the crop strong rather than a bit grown out. I have no regrets and can't see me ever growing it long ever again. Do other short haired posters agree with me that once your used to short hair going back to long is a pain or do we tend to grow it again to sometimes please our partners?

I love it!

You look beautiful, all Audrey Hepburnish.

I loved having cropped hair in my twenties, and yours looks fab.

I have found though as I got older it looked a bit harsh and have now gone long again, but still envy those with their crops. Enjoy!!

Lovely. I could never get away with it. I always wanted hair like Evie from The House of Elliot, but I'd also need her face to go with it!

Stylelostinlabour · 07/04/2010 08:45

Oh I always wanted to look like Evie too!

Love the hair, so different short fab!

Am so glad you came back to update. I had mine cropped about the same time as you, and went back for my first trim last week. Have found that in needs cutting every 3-4 weeks, which is what will probably make me ditch the crop eventually.

Yours does look so lovely. What product do you use to stop it looking too fluffy? Once mine starts to grow out, after about ten days, I'm in danger of looking like Julie Walters in Mamma Mia!

Wow, it really suits you! I had v short hair in my teens but don't really have the face shape for it to be honest, so had 3 years of growing out hell. Know what you mean about partners - DH looks very apprehensive every time I tell him I'm going to the hairdresser even though it's for a trim!

I have mine very short, although I haven't been able to get to the hairdresser for a couple of months so it is very bouffy at the moment. It is lovely when it is just done, but a pita having to get it cut every 5 weeks. I had it very short and platinum when I met dh, and used to do it myself, but don't have the balls to do that anymore!

I use Trevor Sorbie goop to get a bit of shape to it.

In fact I'm off to the hairdressers tonight so very excited

PlumSykes, Actually I think it is just natural in most of the pics, sometimes I use a touch of mousse or gel, it is just so so easy.

You look lovely.

I had my hair like this in my mid-20s and did like it but found it too much hassle to go to the hairdresser every 4-5 weeks so ended up growing it out. I would do it again but fear my general lack of organisation would lead to the same problem (I currently get my hair cut about once a year).
