Mens suits & tags

Right at a wedding recently and some of the men had left the tag on the cuff of the suit, not the price tag but the sewn on label that says Hugo Boss for example.

In the general scheme of things no biggie is it meant to be cut off or left there?

I would always cut it off

Cut it off.

I would have cynically wondered if they were going to return them after the wedding.

I am a dry cleaner and it always makes me laugh how many men leave this on. It is supposed to be cut off when you buy it. It is so the suit shops can see what make the suit is in the shop. I know I shouldn't but I always think 'twat' when I see men walking around with it on. Its like the cross stitch that you get at the back of suits that is supposed to be cut. I think the shop assistants should tell people because they obviously don't realise.

My MIL was saying that she was served by "lovely young man" at a hotel (she was booking a big dinner thing and choosing the menu) but felt really sorry for him because he'd left one of these labels on

I was wondering, as she told the story, whether maybe some of them are meant to be kept on as they have the designer label or something, when she said "and the worst thing was, it said "machine washable"
