Who would like to recommend me a beautiful top, that is fashionable, covetable, not mumsy but not mutton either...

Because I am off to have my 'lost two stone, having a very expensive hairdo at Lisa Shepherd' treat next week.

And you know how those hairdressers, they judge you if you don't go in with the right look. And they give you the cut they think you 'fit'.

In my head I am 20 and hip and gorgeous.

In reality I am 40-something, fat (though less than before ) and yes, um, mumsy.

Show me product, please.

Ohh, well done!!! No ideas at all but watching with wide eyes!!!!

I'm going to need a bit more to go on...

  1. What are you wearing on your bottom half?
  2. Do you want sleeves?
  3. What is your colouring?
  4. Any no-nos?
  5. Budget?
  6. Size?

Wilf - you going to the Kiddi bramch? If so, don;t stress too much. vaguely smart, vaguely trendy, perhaps a wee scarf. Honestly. Kiddi is NOT known for style.

If Brum or London, keep trying

WilfSell · 05/04/2010 20:12

Brum: I'm thinking GLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM.

Bottom half, dunno yet. Probably after some wonderful jeans too but not been looking yet.

Size 14-16 on top
Budget not a major issue: I tend to favour upper end of big city high street, when I can fit in 'em.
Sleeves Deffo, or something over them.
I'm pale 'spring/autumn' so no real blues/dark reds etc. But I can't bear all the autumn colours, except 'tan' so probably something bright would be best.

I really like structured things: I'd love to find some beautiful fitted but interesting tops. But not too clingy (still got 2 stone to lose!)

Norks reasonably evident still so good shape needed and not too high neck etc.

Thanks!

Is it Lisa herself doing you? Cos remember she is (ahem) a curvy, Junoesque type herself. And v nice. Her minions all anorexics though.

How about one of the silky tunicy things Danni Minogue has been sporting lately - a non-maternity job obv?

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 05/04/2010 20:43

i like this
or this?

This looks better in rl than pic - coveted it in the shop and am awaiting delivery now it is on sale. Am a 14 and think it is a good shape for my size - love square necklines.

If you can stretch to it, I would do something like this or this

WilfSell · 05/04/2010 22:23

Thank you for your suggestions. I L.O.V.E those Viv Westwood ones (will count pennies and see...)
