Going on holiday tomorrow. I had a waxing appointment booked for Friday but had to cancel because I was too ashamed!

I haven't been waxed since before I was pg with DS (so, er, summer 2007 )

DH doesn't care so I've veeted a couple of times for swimming/hols but no proper de-fuzz for nearly 3 years!

So, I've bought wax strips (and some Veet in case I bottle it).

How do I get the best/ least painful results?

Sorry but in my opinion home waxing is extremely painful and doesn't work very well. I have mine done regularly (everything below the waist!) and would never do the home thing to myself again!

Don't be embarassed - I am like an ape I get so hairy even my upper thighs are covered in dark hair before a wax. They don't care and have seen it all before.

Spare yourself the agony I say.

Sorry I have been anything but helpful

It seems the consensus is not to bother. I had a suspicion it might not be a good idea.

Not sure if I can use Veet while pg actually...

I'm a coward and wouldn't, I'd use the veet and if necessary a razor. lol

Anyway, if you do opt to wax, take a couple of brandies painkillers first, app this will take the edge off the pain.

Good luck! Have a wonderful holiday.

Ok, I can. Phew.

Oops didn't realise you were pg. In which case, Veet and razor!

I tried this homekit the other day. It was the least painful wax job I have ever done even less painful than the professional ones.

Something to do with the oil you apply first, makes the wax not stick to your skin or something or another. Plus no strips to faff around with.

Presonally prefer waxing as it lasts longer and feel like a get a better finish.

mustincreasebust · 05/04/2010 21:07

okayyyyy didn't read the op properly I see you already have something.

Have a good holiday

Have a good old trim first as this looks loads neater and easier to do the veet/waxing business

hairymelons · 06/04/2010 00:14

The Veet-ing is done! Looks much better, why didn't I do this years months ago?
Ah yes, those dratted low standards of mine...
Thanks all

I use bodyshop sugering(Wax) the best one so far. I never used to wax at home but for last 7 yrs i am using that, its just too good. I dont know why but with bodyshop wax it doesnt hurt.
