An opportunity may come up imminently or at least to go out somewhere swishy and I have no idea where to start.

I am 40 live in informal dresses, skirts, leggings and tunics, big Joe Brown/Republic/Apricot fan, Not brilliant with anything short short as I have cyclists thighs..

Oh and stilettos are out, wedge heels of any height OK. Will [post some photos of possible options in a bit and I could adapt my wardrobe if I am inspired by links. Pic of my face on my profile if that matters.

Last time I went clubbing (to the world's shittest club) I wore a pink patterned Emily & Fin minidress, woolly black opaques and almost-knee length Doc Martins. It was January and snowy...almost everyone else was in stilettos and spray-on lycra.

Ooohh.. I like the cowl necked one from ASOS... You don't think the ruching would make my legs look even chunkier? I really like the back as well. I am tall so heels would make my legs longer I suppose....
