Have you an irreplaceable pair of jean that make your legs look better than any others?

I have a pair from Miss Selfridge, bought circa 2002! They are dark denim, 98% cotton 2% lycra. Fit is skintight to knees then a bootcut flare.

I have only worn them about 20 times (mostly for going out in the evening) as I cannot bear the thought of them getting worn out and me not owning them. They make my thighs look slender and shapely, my waist look slimmer and my backside toned and smooth. The lycra makes them stretchy and confortable on the waist. Why the hell didn't I buy 10 pairs? Sigh.

So how can it be that these jeans work miracles for me and I have never found another pair that even come close.

Am I the only one in this frustrating position or does anyone else swear that they own a pair of jeans that makes them look way better than any other pair on the market?

I love Starfish jeans for this very reason. Only tonight I was searching the internet for a new pair and they are out of stock EVERYWHERE. Gutted.

MarkStretch · 04/04/2010 22:42

Oh and everyone told me that New Look Hula jeans are great, but I bought some and they are shit.

thelunar66 · 04/04/2010 22:43

God. Yes.

I have a Gap pair... slightly faded on the thighs. The waist on them NEVER EVER gives me a muffin top.

I have now started to keep them for 'best' to make them last.

I love them.

HalfTermHero · 04/04/2010 22:48

Oh thank god I am not the only one in this position! It is really gutting isn't it? I would love to wear them day to day but would be foolish. Worn lightly they will hopefully last a good 12 years yet! If only there was some company that could copy jeans to order......

12 years? I've already owned my 'magic' pair 10 years!

DidEinsteinsMum · 04/04/2010 22:56

Yep and i am having to face the fact that much loved and worn pair are finally wearing out they werent even a posh pair, so the literally owe me nothing. I still want them to last for forever though.

HalfTermHero · 04/04/2010 23:12

Mine are 8 years old Lunna, I would love them to live to be 20! Einstein, I just saw another thread about dying your jeans to restore colour and give new life. That has cheered me up a bit.Any chance this could revive yours or is it more an issue of fabric wearing through?

No but I might start referring to jeans in the singular, I quite like the sound of a 'pair of jean'

HalfTermHero · 04/04/2010 23:30

Sounds kinda Amenrican I think

I am of people who can wear Zara jeans, I am way too much of a shortarse for them. Their tops are nice but have given up with trousers as they seem to be for tall 'uns only!

thelunar66 · 04/04/2010 23:45

I have loads of Zara trousers... all wonderful and perfect.

I've never tried their jeans, but will now.

I have some great Asda ones that are really flattering . Now I'm pg they fall down

LolaLadybird · 05/04/2010 07:48

If the fabric wearing out becomes a problem, you can buy some great iron-on stuff that you iron on the wrong side and it bonds to the fabric, literally patching up any worn out bits. Mine got so worn on the inner thigh, they started to tear but this stuff has saved them.

HalfTermHero · 07/04/2010 22:22

Great news, Lola! Where do you get this stuff and what do you call it please? Between your iron on stuff and the denim dye, my jeans could live forever.......!

Not so much my legs, but everything else. It's a pair of lee jeans, and I remember the day I bought them; I tried on every pair in the shop, all too straight up and down for me, and then I saw these, cut for a curve (I have a J Lo-esque bum, well, I think of it that way) ... amazing. I wore through the bum, got my mother to patch with iron on stuff and to sew over them multiple times to reinforce, but I'm too scared to wear them now in case they collapse and because I've put on weight.

trixymalixy · 08/04/2010 00:45

My favourite jeans are surprisingly from Asda. I bought several more pairs on ebay as I love them so much.
