help - where do stylish/trendy men shop?

DH needs an image overhaul. He's still stuck in the 90s and desperately needs new clothes and a new look. He's 36, so nothing too young and trendy, just stylish and trendy. Any suggestions please??? I don't know where to start. What do stylish men wear these days that still look sexy??? - We live in Hicksville, so internet shopping is better - we've got M&S, Next and Debenhams.
TIA for any suggestions.

MrsB, he's 6ft, medium build and wears jeans/combats and mainly t-shirts. When we go out (on the very rare occasions) he pulls out a shirt from our going out days (at least 5years old) then thinks they will look ok, teamed with jeans and his work shoes - as they're his "best" shoes! (works in an office and wears a suit, so you know the sort) - he thinks these shirts are still ok, as they were always kept for "best" - i.e. going out, so as they haven't had loads of wear, they must be ok, never mind that they look old fash now.
thanks DDW will look through all them when DCs in bed!

Top man & Zara only if skinny

and I do not have much to add- dh wears combats or Gap khakis with plain tshirts (often a long-sleeved white one under a coloured one), and khakis with shirts for 'best'

men often do better in classic basics that really suit them than trying to be all edgy when they don't really care about fashion

yes, that sounds like DH's style mrsB, I don't want to change drastically how he looks, just update him to 2010 versions!

DP is 37, medium build, not square but not into fashion and always finds something in Zara and the odd thing from Burton and River Island.
I bought him a charcoal padded gilet last winter which I really liked on him, and it was really warm too.

stressheaderic · 16/07/2012 21:32

Oh hang on, zombie thread.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 16/07/2012 21:34

Ugh. sthamptons - reported.

Bloody zombie threads - MN PLEASE can you start highlighting threads older than 3 months old? Grin

sthamptons · 18/07/2012 18:01

wow - why was i flagged for suggesting Mr Porter as advertising?!! it's the same company as net a porter but for men! how is it different from suggesting other stores such as zara? was just trying to be helpful!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/07/2012 18:02

then why bump such an old thread? It happens - advertisers search the archives and post links to their sites. Apologies if it was a genuine suggestion, but it did look like advertising.

dexter73 · 18/07/2012 18:03

Maybe it is because the thread is so old. Hopefully he would have got some new clothes by now!

sthamptons · 18/07/2012 21:40

sorry I'm new on here, literally just joined two days ago. I should have checked the date.. I didn't realise commenting on old posts was bad form, thought it might help other people who may have the same problem with more recent answers as i've been grateful for on other forums.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/07/2012 22:36

Bollocks.

sthamptons · 18/07/2012 23:17

Charming.
