talk to me about spanx!

Am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and need a miracle tit-to-knee "shapewear".
I do have a couple of pairs of magic pants but have ishoos with them rolling down around the waist and ending up with a muffin top.

Basically I am trying to decide if this is worth over twice as much as these

I have a long body which is why I am attracted to the things that go around your bra. Any alternatives must allow peeing without removal - this has been my downfall when I have worn these before - by the time I have had a few drinks it is too much faff getting back into them every 15 minutes (hamster bladder).

Any thoughts oh wise ones?

I've got some of these and one of these from M&S. Much cheaper than Spanx, and, having had several compare-and-contrast pissed conversations on girls' nights out, think they're just as good. Maybe try this

I have the second pair and they are really good. If your bra fits well the top tucks underneath it and will stay there unless you spend all night dancing with your arms above your head! You can go commando and it has an attracive overlap flap thing to pee without removing but I always take mine off and adjust any time I go to the loo.

Hmmm...not convinced those M&S ones go high enough to reach up to my bra EvilTwins. The second one would be no use as my boobs definitely need a proper bra.

hellbent - the problem is that this is one of my best friends getting married and it is highly likely I will be spending much of the night dancing with my arms over my head!
Is the pissflap thing not good then - have never worn open gusset pants before but it seemed like a great solution.

It does come up to my bra - but then I'm only 5'6...

I'm only 5'3!! but very short legs (29") and freakishly long body

Might have to go and try a few things on in M&S....

I'm sure some people use them but I was worried in my drunken state that I'd have a wee accident! You can do some hands-over-head-dancing but it might start to wriggle down eventually. there is a fair bit of extra fabric that tucks under your bra.

Soooooooooooooo too much info but can I just say that there's NO WAY to pee in Spanx without taking them down first (which then involves, in my case at least, a drunken and sweaty battle with fat bits and lycra moving in opposing directions). I have tried peeing whilst wearing them and doing the parting of the open gusset thing but by Christ, I have never managed it without at least a little wee going on the gusset and that's never a good thing. My cousin assures me that the trick is to buy somehting called a "she-pee" specifically for spanx wee wee requirements. Think it's like a funnel you pee down into the loo? She is quite a bit fatter than me and wears a lot of tight dresses so I'm bowing to her superior spanx peeing skills.

Have you thought about this:

underdress

does the same jobs as the knickers but without the peeing problems...andf looks quite a bit better IMHO.

Spanx are fab! Just invested in the tit to knee one for a special occasion and it's marvellous

I had no problem going to the loo whilst wearing it and it stayed up all night even with the drunken dancing! Well worth the investment - will be wearing it again and again!

I have the 1st one you linked to, OP, and it's great shapewise but the pee-hole is tiny! (imho) - I always end up hoicking them down and wrestling them back up again.

I really rate spanx as well. I'm also tall with a long body and it stays up to the bra the whole night. has a hole for you to wee (i kind of hold it open so there are no spilages!!!).

I've got the cheaper spanx by the way and it has never rolled down so think you can definitely buy the less expensive version.

Can't remember the last time my husband saw me in normal knickers as i have every spanx under the sun!!!

Can those of you who have them give further advice?

The thing I want to avoid is back boobs - a roll of back fat between the bottom of my bra and the top of the pants. Will this definitely not be an issue with the 30 quid ones? (realises nothing ever guaranteed but please lie if needed )

I'd go for spanx "high falutin" I think they're called. Well worth the ££££ IMO.
