acetone to remove nail extensions

anyone done it themselves, I don't really want to pay £10 to get them removed and a nice lady in one of the nail shops told me to buy acetone from boots and soak them, am however nervous.

yes you soak them until they go jellified and then you can peel them off. leaves your nails looking a real mess though, mine tookmonths to recover, so much so i've been having extensions again as couln't abre how they looked.

i did it myself recently..you need cuticle oil first, then soak in the acetone and then use an orange stick to peel off.. give yourself a couple of hours... my nails weren;t too bad, but keep breaking once they reach a ceratain lenght as they grow out

been about 3 months and nearly all the damaged bit grown out..

Yes - as MG said. They will look a mess though - although they would probably look the same if they took them off in a salon.

One of te reasons I will never get extensions again.

It will take the best part of a year for your nails to grow back strong - although apparently eating a cube of jelly every day does help.

I did it myself, a word of advice though. Don't use a plastic bowl. The acetone ate right through it!

i got a bowl from a beauty supply shop that was fine for the acetone

problem is acetone KILLS (what´s left of) your nails.

I´d do it professionally if pos.
