What key items should I purchase this spring/summer?

Hello

I have saved up some money to spend on some new clothes and wondered what would be good bets to buy for this spring/summer?

I usually shop in gap and tend to prefer 'classic' rather than fashion clothes. I am tall (6ft) and have a pear shaped body.

Please offer suggestions as I am stuck in a fashion rut!

Something nude or coral, if your colouring allows.

I am also liking all the sailor-type t-shirts around and they always look quite summery.

Anyone else out there who has advice?

I'd got for a jacket - I have just brought this one at fill price I plan on using it to smarten up jeans and to keep me a bit warmer on chilli sping evenings.

Well I am a closet fan of jeggings but I will get flamed for suggesting some

So depending on what you want..

a maxi dress
some nice tan leather/wooden sandals
a stripey top
some chino/cargo style pants which you can wear nonchalantly rolled up (gap's good for these)
a jacket, navy would be a good colour

try to stick to classic pieces.. no point deviating if you will feel silly in anything high fashion

I am very of your height! I am only 5'3" and always having to shorten hems.

If I were you I would head to Zara, they have great stuff at the moment. Massimo Dutti is Zara's older more expensive sister and always has lovely things, really nice quality, classy but still on trend IYKWIM.

The big trends for summer are:

nude, Zara have lovely nude draped tunics and dresses, also pretty white embroidered tops and lightweight scarves which really finish off an outfit.

nautical, lots of breton tops in the shops, esp Oasis, or get a Petit Bateau one for authenticity.

Get yourself 2 pairs of jeans, one dark wash, one white.

Jersey blazers are fab, I bought two, one navy with cream trim, one charcoal grey. They look smart and are very comfortable.

Maxi dresses are great for relaxed glamour, I can't wear them, but they'd look great on you

Clogs are the footwear of choice for the fashionista this season, but they are too ugly for me, a pair of gladiators sandals look better I think.

It is bucketing down here today, so a smart coat is handy for summer, there are trenches everywhere this season.

Finally, a good pair of sunglasses and you are all set

I got a couple of cardis from H&M last week. A nice nude one and a white one. They have slim sleeves to mid upper arm and then then are ruched.

Nice quality, flattering on and £14.99 each.
