Home IPL hair removal

Hello. Does anyone have feedback on the various home IPL hair removal systems that are available, ie Boots Smooth Skin Intense Pulsed Light hair reduction system.

I have had enough of spending a fortune every few weeks on waxing.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have the boots one. I have had salon ipl previously and find it very effective. Like most ipl and laser it's the most effective on dark thick hair. The biggest problem I have is finding the time to do a treatment at home.

any update on this - am thinking of buying the boots IPL as have horrid hairy chin and this one can be used on face, but as £250, don't want to go throwing money away if useless ... tell me it works please and I can have a hair-free future!

Bear in mind that "permanent" hair removal only means 5-6 years. I'm not actually sure how that is regulated in the UK, but IPL products in the US are allowed by the FDA to advertise their effect as "permanent" if they inhibit regrowth for 5-6 years. I would imagine a similar caveat is in order for the Boots Smooth Skin system.

Having said that, 250 pounds is nothing compared to what a dozen sessions of IPL treatment would cost in a salon.

Thanks for that RNB - suppose it's like everything in life then in that nothing is for ever! Still like to know if it works, though, even if only for a few years, it's got to beat plucking/electrolysis or the expense of salon laser treatment ...
