Is this dress too bridal for a wedding guest ?

here

I've tried it on and really like it but am not sure if white is a complete no no. I did try the other colour on but didn't like it as much

I would have no issue if someone wore that dress to my wedding.

Intergalactic · 26/03/2010 15:02

I think it's lovely. The only time I wouldn't is if it was a 'funky' modern wedding and the bride was likely to be wearing something a bit 'different' and possibly more casual than the norm. If she's likely to be in a standard wedding dress then I think you'll be fine. I wouldn't have been bothered if someone wore that to my wedding.

SheWillBeLoved · 26/03/2010 15:08

Beautiful dress absolutely fine to wear imo. If it was full length and with a slight train, then maybe you'd have to have a rethink

Ladyem · 26/03/2010 15:13

I was bracing myself for some floor length, bias cut ivory gown!!

Lovely dress and I see no reason why you can't wear it to a wedding! Love it in the blue, too!

Cobblers · 26/03/2010 15:19

It's a really lovely dress.

FabIsGettingThere · 26/03/2010 15:22

I think it would be fine

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/03/2010 16:18

Thanks all.

Its not a traditional big church wedding but the bride is doing the whole big dress/veil etc. thing.

Fab - I think it looks shorter on the pic. Its just above my knee [short arse emoticon]

Now - what colour shoes etc. ?

v nice, fine for wedding.

how low is the neckline?
thinking of getting it myself!

mazzystartled · 26/03/2010 16:21

it's very unbridal & v nice

you can use accessories in the colours in the embroidery to de-white-ify it too.

Buda · 26/03/2010 16:31

It's gorgeous. Not bridal in anyway.

I think you would get a lot of wear out of it too as you could wear it dressed down over a pair of leggings or jeans or white linen trousers.

Silver accessories might look nice.

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/03/2010 19:59

Carrie- the neckline is sort of normal T shirt it (not too low but not high necked, just a tiny smidgen of clevage on show)

Lovely, not at all bridal.

Monadami · 26/03/2010 20:42

It's quite sweet. What shoes would you wear with it?

CarrieDaBabi · 26/03/2010 20:46

how about bright multi coloured lots of bangles?

LeopardSkinPillBoxHat · 26/03/2010 20:52

love love love it!! wear it

nighbynight · 27/03/2010 06:03

I wouldnt wear it if you are the bride's sister and will be in small group photos. Otherwise fine.

SilveryMoon · 27/03/2010 06:11

It's very nice. I'm going to a wedding in september, might get it myself!

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/03/2010 20:09

I'm thinking of trying to pick out the turquoise colour for shoes (just to make life difficult !)

What do you think of the ones below ?

one

two

I do like these three but they're way over budget
