Best Mascara on the Market

Hi,

I need to buy a new mascara as my last one (L'oreal) is now old and clumpy.
Seriously unimpressed by L'Oreal as it started to get clumpy after only a couple of uses.

What are your recommendations?

Maybelline pink and green one - always fab

muddlinleigh · 26/03/2010 13:37

Max Factor masterpiece or false lash effect mascara. Both make my pale stumpy lashes look long and lush.

toodles · 26/03/2010 13:45

Mary - exactly what colour is the pink and green one, not really pink and green I hope? I'm hoping that's just the brand name or something.

I move from Maybelline to Bourjois - haven't regretted it. I use the glamour one, which obviously represents me to a 't'!

BunnyLebowski · 26/03/2010 13:50

Max Factor 2000 Calorie.

Having tried all the expensive mascaras (Dior, Lancome, Blinc etc) I always come back to this one.

It makes my lashes look twice as long and thick without going crusty or spidery.

Buy it!

BendyBob · 26/03/2010 13:58

I've tried a fair few in my time some v £, but this one is most excellent.

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/03/2010 14:55

no,it's not pink or green ! blackest black - my mind has gone and I can't remember it's name ...

darkandstormy · 26/03/2010 14:59

was a blinc devotee but now have switched to clinique high impact mascara in black, and am delighted. It makes my crappy sparse stubs look long and lush, comes off with warm water alone, does not smudge really cannot fault it in any way.It was recommende to me by someone on here. Its fab.

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/03/2010 15:01

It's Maybelline Great Lash mascara

Sazisi · 26/03/2010 15:02

Bad Gal Lash by Benefit

Bumperlicious · 26/03/2010 15:05

Darkandstormy was it me who recommend it? I am a clinque mascara devotee. I never wore mascara till I discovered it as I hated having to scrub it off and looking like a panda the next day. Clinique high impact never smudges (though it flakes when it gets a bit old - then again my mascaras tend to last me a year I know they shouldn't). And it just comes off with warm water.

toodles · 26/03/2010 15:25

Thanks for all the recommendations. Now I don't know which one to choose from. Glad no-one recommended L'Oreal. Really was quite bad and pricey too.

l'oreal is always clumpy imo

maybelline great lash good for everyday wear, clinique long pretty lashes is brilliant too - kind of soft and glossy and non-clumpy. not too £££ either, maybe about £12?

essexgirl31 · 26/03/2010 18:10

I second Max Factor Calorie 2000. I have long dark eyelashes and this makes them look almost false.

Just like BunnyLebowski I have tried all the expensive ones and the cheaper ones too. I always end up with this again. I'm not quite sure why I bother trying the others - I think I have a disturbing addiction to mascara

mummee09v · 26/03/2010 18:17

i use max factor false lash effect, its amazing. the ysl false lash is even better but its about 25 quid!!

JeremyVile · 26/03/2010 18:19

I agree with Max Factor 2000 calorie, its very good.
I also love YSL false lash effect, though its only marginally better than the max factor one imo but I love the colours, there's a couple that are really lovely for green eyes.
I bought the Maybelline pink and green one and hate it - it looks alright but i find it very wet, so have to be ultra careful applying it and it smudges loads throughout the day.

MamaG · 26/03/2010 18:21

another max 2000 lover here

Toots · 26/03/2010 18:33

Agree great lash very wet.

fayeso · 26/03/2010 20:56

I love clinique Naturally Glossy as it does not have fibres in it and therefore does not make me look as though I have spider legs dangling from my eyes-(hope you know what i mean!!!)
It also last all day and dosen't smudge-woth the £13.00 ish it costs as far as i am concerned!!!

salvadory · 26/03/2010 21:33

Love max factor false lash effect better than any of the pricier mascaras I used pre baby although estee Lauder also v good.

sylar · 26/03/2010 21:45

I desperately need a new mascara since mine (max factor aqualash - worn for 20 years!) is great but impossible to remove and now seems to be pulling my eyelashes out.

Has anyone tried Revitalash? I posted about it but nobody responded. Apparently it makes ypour eyelashes so thick and long after a few weeks that you don't need mascara. Pricey but I'm tempted to splash out if it really works

MrsMeow · 27/03/2010 14:22

Another one for Max Factor 2000 calorie, I recently bought this after trying 20 million other types and it's fantastic. Comes off easy as well when you want to remove it.

Cheapest I found it was on cheapsmells.com

darkandstormy · 27/03/2010 22:14

bumperliscious thankyou it was you who recommended it ,what a brilliant find, really delighted my eyelashes are all of a flutter as of late, very rare to find a product me mrs fussy boots loves.the way it washes off without the panda eyes, fab.

Bumperlicious · 30/03/2010 20:51

Ooh, I am glad darkandstormy. I've just bought a new one, will never buy another brand again!

Jewelsandgems · 31/03/2010 08:46

I use Bobbi Brown 'everything' and it is really really good. Applies easily, no clumping and stays put. Easy to remove and does not irritate my eyes (I don;t even have sensitive eyes, but some volumising mascaras really are not comfortable!)
