Tan without burning...

I need me some sun.

I am of mixed race (black/white), but quite pale, so, how can I get a nice tan without damaging my skin?

I'm not sold on the fake tan route. Any particular lotions I should be looking at that'll allow safe sunning?

Much thanks in advance.

Hi Wuxiapian. No type of lotions or posions will stop sun damage. Fake tan is the way to go. Maybe try getting a professional spray tan.... this home salon is good www.get-lashed.co.uk. I've had an airbrush tan with Jodi many times and prices are very reasonable.

HI, ALLISON1982.

So, all those "sun protection" lotions do nothing at all?

The lotions, help prevent damage and you should wear a high spf when you are out and about in the sun, but allison is right fake bake is the only safe way.

do you get freckles? If so be extra careful in the sun...
If you wear an SPF 30 you will still get a little bit of colour, you will tan (slightly) without burning...
I am terrified now of the sun though, had a BCC (cancer) removed from my nose a couple years ago.
