5ft size 12 but curvy with chunky arms and thighs bigish boobs. I normally have to wear something quite fitted or else my boobs melt into my tummy

I love this dress. Blue is my colour (i'm blonde with green eyes and paleish skin). Does anyone know a similar one?

So far have tried Dune.

Librarian.

Ewe · 24/03/2010 16:26

Navy

This is very pretty

Can you do strapless?

One shoulder

Pretty but red/orange

navyeyelasH · 24/03/2010 17:12

jemart, jeez what sort of libraries do you go to?!

Thanks for the links ewe..

I don't like the navy one
I love the trapeze one but don't think the ruching (sp?) round the bust will do me any favours
I can do strapless but it has to be quite a deep strapless like this one. I don't like the drss just showing you the bust part.
That one shoulder one is good, maybe as close as I'm going to get, but still not perfect
The red or orange one is lovely bt would look like a sack on me!

So hard to buy dresses for my shape ARGH!

close but shiny

karen millen?

navyeyelasH · 24/03/2010 17:36

thanks money spider I checked Karen Millen and there were a few I thought were okish but as that price I need to love it!

That debut one looks scary in the picture but Ithink I will go and hunt it down as the reviews say it's better in the flesh. I don't know why but it seems boring from the pic even though it is similar to the one Kelly has one - I think it's the cut on the skirt - a bit prim?

check out the dresses at Fever. I just bought one there for my sister's wedding.

navyeyelasH · 24/03/2010 17:44

off thanks OMDB just had a look so many lovely dresses, esp love the shirt dress with the frilly neck line but I don't love anything. ARGH!

Is it really expensive to get a dress made?

OP posts:
Jewelsandgems · 24/03/2010 18:16

navy my friend had a dress made for her and she got the person from ebay. She sent them a picture of the dress being worn by a celeb, and posted it to the ebay contact, and she then made the dress and posted it back to her. It was amazing too, but she had 2 made, and only 1 turned out right so I guess it is a bit of a risk.....

tethersend · 24/03/2010 18:51

Would you do green?

Hullygully · 24/03/2010 18:52

I'd do her, Tethers.

tethersend · 24/03/2010 18:58

Back of the queue, Hully. Back of the queue.

redshoesnoknickers · 24/03/2010 19:16

this one

navyeyelasH · 24/03/2010 23:31

I would do green and her but I think that's too jersey ish for me I normally need something more structured and semi sort of supporting? What do you think? It is very nice though!

I realise this is nothing like what I asked about but what do you think of this. I like it but am not sure, maybe it's another one you need to try on?!

jemart · 25/03/2010 16:15

OP is not a Pratchett fan then.
Your thread title said "ooking" - ook is the only Word ever uttered by the librarian of Unseen University.
It's really not as witty when it has to be explained.... Sorry I'll just go now.

navyeyelasH · 25/03/2010 18:40

I am a Pratchett fan and wasn't sure what you were referring to; I thought you must have meant Kelly looked like a librarian

Still no dress, is the fish like lady still in these parts?

OP posts:
tethersend · 25/03/2010 20:40

I love that green dress you linked to, navyeyelasH.

tethersend · 25/03/2010 22:11

Would you do red?

Or similar blue one here

navyeyelasH · 25/03/2010 22:18

I would do red, but that dress looks really odd on the bust of that model, like it's pulling her boobs down/hanging off her nipple?

Like the blue but can't do satin.

Thanks [again] thethersend. I'm still uming over the green one!

londonmackem · 25/03/2010 22:23

Debenhams have a very similar blue one shoulder number in their half price sale. I tried it on today in a size too small so didn't look great - have a browse online.

navyeyelasH · 25/03/2010 23:28

thanks londonmackem, I think they're the debut and coast ones already linked too?

I think I like this. Might be too long and too booby but worth a try. I think when you look at so many you almost talk yourself into liking it!

OP posts:
navyeyelasH · 27/03/2010 14:29

In the end I found a local dress makes who can do one for me, it's about £150 which for a bespoke dress I think is amazing!

Thanks for all the help everyone.
