I have seen some lovely maxi dresses for my holiday but i'm only short 5'5ish so just wondered if they suit short people or not. I've never tried one on before.

sorry but I am that height and do not consider myself short.
I would get one, which ones are you looking at?

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 16:06

5'5 isn't short.

onlygirl · 21/03/2010 16:11

I must just have short legs then because even the short work trousers I get from Dorothy perkins are a bit long tbh. A next directory has been delivered this morning so I was just flicking through that and those dresses are quite pretty.

yeah 5 foot 5 is NOT short!!

i am five 2 and i would wear one. republic have a lovely stripey one in at the mo thats a bit Missoni, very tempted to get it for when it gets warmer.

You're not short at all!

I've yet to brave the maxi dress look - is there a particular length thats best though? I don't want to be sweeping the floor as I go but don't want to so short that it looks mumsy.

And...how do I avoid the "is she or isn't she pregnant" look?

CameraLady · 21/03/2010 16:45

I just can't deal with the name 'maxi' it sounds like a sanitary towel.

And 5'5 is NOT short....

TrillianAstra · 21/03/2010 16:52

SHow us which ones you like then...

The key is to have one in a nice drapey material, not a pouffy pregnant-looking empire-line.

onlygirl · 21/03/2010 16:56

jenduff- they are exactly my worries!

I am short and I weat them. I wear them to the floor with flat leather flip flops type things. Just do it they are so comfy and cool in the summer

Am thinking the not having to shave legs is a good incentive to buying several
