Its my hair.

It's long (boob length) and very very wavy. I usually leave it to dry naturally but I love it when it's straight but only straighten when I go out in the eves.
It's mostly one length although I had a go at the MN haircut so not has shorter bits at the front and slightly layerered at the back.

I just want a more interesting style that'll suit it when natural and when straight.
I have an oval/round shaped face, short forehead and I'm 30 (if age makes a difference)
I also work with children so needs to be practical too.

I've been told to leave it as it is but I'm bored with it

Oh dear. A lost cause then....
Perhaps I need hair mags

Not a lost cause... sounds a lot like my hair....and I used to work with children too. I got tired with the frizz of what everyone else called "beautiful wavy hair." Loved straight hair but took hours to do so never did it. Now I do the curly girl method to encourage more waves/curls and certain products to hold them in place. I can then tie it all up/back to have it totally out of the way, useful for when with kids so you don't catch their nits or I have half of it tied back and long waves down my back. So far it's working for me.... maybe you could look into this too? Oh, and I do the MN haircut too as my hair's very thick so makes it easier to manage. Hope this helps!

I tried the curly girl but I ended up getting through conditioner like nobody's business. I also couldn't work out how to get my hair scrunched up into the towel (ended up getting really stressed with it) Plus it never felt particularly clean to me. I use baby shampoo and still use original source conditioner so avoiding chemicals.
I would really like it cut into a more trendy but manageable style so I can still straighten it once/twice a fortnight

Yeah it's only very recently I've started this CG method so we'll see how it goes....Hopefully then someone with more know-how will be along soon to help you...
